Current Donation Goals

Hi everyone,

We need your help to keep the forum running smoothly and ready for the future!

Our current server is running out of space (only 15% left!) and struggling with performance during peak times, with CPU usage hitting 100%. On top of that, our hosting contract expires in July, and renewing with our current provider (www.webhosting.uk.com) has become difficult with a lack of response to communications for renewal and becoming too expensive for what we get.

After researching alternatives, I've found a better deal with www.fasthosts.co.uk, offering higher capacity and significant cost savings. Here's the breakdown:

Current Server Specs with Webhosting UK:

• 3 CPUs, 4GB RAM, 150GB NVMe SSD
• Renewal cost: £3,511.49 over 3 years (including forum software and SSL certificates)

Proposed Upgrade with Fasthosts:

The proposal will come with 2 days of downtime whilst we migrate our data to a new host.

• 8 CPUs, 16GB RAM, 1000GB SSD storage
• Cost: £1,823.40 over 3 years (including forum software and SSL certificates)
• Savings: £1,688.09 over 3 years, plus vastly improved performance and storage.

We currently have £259.45 in contingency funds, leaving us needing £1,563.95 to cover the costs for the next 3 years. To ensure a buffer for future needs, we aim to raise £1,750, leaving a contingency of around £185.

An additional £50 will be added to cover stripe costs.

Thank you again for your contributions. I have a soft target of £2,000, which will allow me to purchase some additional improvements to automate many of the things I do manually, such as server monitoring and backups (which I do manually each week). 

If we get there brilliant, if not it's not the end of the world.

Why This Matters:

Upgrading will ensure better performance and reliability, providing much-needed storage for media like match pictures and videos, without this funding we will not carry on beyond July 2025.
