This is not a drill. There are only three games left of our regular North West Counties Premier Division fixture list. We start the final three this coming Thursday evening as we, finally, host Ramsbottom United under the Gigg Lane lights after three previous postponements due to weather in the first of two fixtures against our near neighbours in 10 days. This will be the first time that the Shakers and The Rams will have EVER met in a league encounter in both clubs histories so it has

We go again! And we try again, for the third time in fact, as we have the visit of Ramsbottom United this Tuesday under the Gigg Lane lights. Dave McNabb’s squad will be keen to put matters right after a disappointing week which only yielded a single point from our three games, and set us up against it in the battle for top spot. But battle they must, and with fans returning to the stands, the players won’t be short of encouragement following the frustration of having to miss out on tw

As we all sat at home twiddling our thumbs this weekend after another cancellation, we watched the thaw slowly take hold and pitches across the north-west started to breathe again. Hopefully that is the end of the freezing conditions as we rocket towards the end of January and look to resume battle in the league. We will be keeping a watchful eye however, over the incoming weather in the hours leading up to the game. Head to social media ( X / Facebook ) or right here at buryfc.co.uk for a

Your Shakers made it six for six this past Saturday as we came away from the Arcoframe arena with all three points as we continue on a run of fine form and remain unbeaten in the league since November. Oli Jepsongot on the scoresheet with a powerful header at the back post and Andy Briggs netted his 20th and 21st goals of the season to ensure Dave McNabb’s men came away with all three points. Pilkington almost found away back into the game in the dying minutes of the second half capita

Despite the disappointing postponement of our last fixture, this weekend the team attention turns to the FA Women’s Challenge cup quarter-final. Bury’s last fixture in this competition against Manchester Laces was awarded as a home walkover. Rochdale gained their place in the quarter final by beating Mancunian Unity Reserves 7-0 last month. As for form coming into the game, our last fixture was an emphatic 5-1 win against Blackpool FC in the North West Women’s Regional League, with goa

After two weeks of cup football, that saw us exit the FA vase after a tough battle with Whickham in the North East and progress in the Macron Cup following penalty shootout heroics from goalkeeping coach and reserve keeper Sam Ashton, we return to NWCFL premier league action this Saturday as we face Skelmersdale United away at The Community Ground in Burscough. Following the Ramsbottom game we were thrilled to receive a note from The ‘Rams’ Club Secretary, Tony Cunningham, praising the club

January comes to a close (we can’t believe it either), and we hope beyond hope that we can get a game on in what has felt like too long! The Shakers last took to the field almost two weeks ago when we dispatched Litherland REMYCA (highlights below) and in doing so, keeping up with those at the top of the league in the process. Due to the weather playing havoc with fixtures across the league, there has not been much change since with Wythenshawe Town remaining top by a point, with Wythenshaw

Nine games to go, and the run in has very much started – and started well. We go to South Liverpool’s Jericho Lane ground in a strong position after a run of six wins on the bounce. We turned the tables on West Didsbury and Chorlton, and the 2-1 scoreline didn’t reflect our dominance for most of the game. Nevertheless it was sweet revenge for the result in the reverse game just a few short weeks ago. What told in the end was the high quality and fighting spirit of our players. Josh Gregory’s

We return to league action tomorrow evening, with the visit of South Liverpool to Gigg Lane. Dave McNabb’s side made it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions, with a 2-0 win away at Garforth Town, booking in our place in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Alex Cherera & Lewis Alessandra scored on either side of the break. Cherera now has five FA Cup goals this season. The draw has just been made for the next round, and we head to either Campion or Blyth Spartans in the
