Back-to-back away games for the Shakers as we travel to Nantwich Town on Tuesday evening. We head into this one off the back of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Bootle. Bury were forced to settle for a point after DJ Pedro’s equaliser and a missed penalty. Ben Hodkinson had given the hosts the lead before halftime, but despite second-half pressure, the Shakers couldn’t find a winner in Dave McNabb’s return to his former club. The Shakers are looking for their first away win in four games, with the las

Our trip to Newcastle Town begins the busy Christmas period of four games in 14 days. Tim Lees will lead the team to Stoke on Trent this weekend, as it was confirmed this week, he will lead the Shakers for the rest of the season. The Shakers picked up a 2-1 victory last time out against Mossley, taking an early lead before being pegged back in an end-to-end first half. Chances came at both ends, with Shakers repeatedly going close. Persistence paid off late on as Gavin Massey’s close-range head

This is it: the real deal. We’ve strengthened our squad, had a strong pre-season, and hammered South Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend. So we go into league action full of confidence – and with good reason. There’s every indication that we’re ready to compete at this level. The pre-season was designed to test our credentials. It did, and we more than survived. Now it’s the real thing, and we’re all set to take on teams more experienced, better organised and more powerful than tho

This past Saturday The Shakers had their first taste of defeat in competitive action since returning to Gigg Lane in a 1-3 defeat to Chadderton. An amazing crowd of 4115 were present and in fine voice as Andy Welsh’s charges went ahead after 25 minutes courtesy of a Darius Palma penalty. Bury defended their lead well, with both sides having chances but neither capitalising until the 86th minute when Chadderton grabbed an equaliser in the form of a wonder strike from their skipper Jord

It was all-square at Squires Gate over the weekend in a high-scoring affair at a sold out Brian Addison Stadium with each side finding the back of the net four times and both sides leaving their first game of the season with a point. Goals for the Shakers came from Iyrwah Gooden, Bryan Ly and Rustam Stepans who all opened their club accounts as the spoils were shared following a baking day in the sun on the coast. Well, it all comes down to this. Two games to define a season. A crazy season, including points deductions, a number of postponements due to weather, behind closed doors fixtures and now to top it all off, a change of home venue to get the game ON! Saturday’s postponement of our game against Padiham, came less than 48 hours after the previous game had ended. This did see us victorious over neighbours Ramsbottom United under rainy Bury skies at Gigg Lane, but ultimately on top of a surface s
