With the weather seemingly calming down since Tuesday’s game fell victim to days of endless rain, we shift our focus to this coming Saturday and the visit of Irlam FC. After going through the whole of December unbeaten in the North West Counties Premier League, Dave McNabb’s charges have eighteen games left in the hunt for the League title and promotion. With us currently sitting in second place, two points behind Wythenshawe who we have a game in on hand following Tuesday’s postponement.

Dave McNabb and his team will look to make it four wins on the bounce this weekend as we travel North into Cumbria to take on Kendal Town in a top-of-the-table clash. This will be our second meeting with The Mintcakes this season and The Shakers will be looking to avenge a 3-2 loss in the reverse fixture back in August, a game in which Andy Briggs bagged a brace. After Saturday’s disappointment in the FA Cup, league action returns to Gigg Lane on Tuesday night as Kendal Town are the visitors for our first competitive game under the lights.   Charnock Richard were the victors at the weekend. Objective achieved! We prepared for this game by bouncing back in style from the defeat at Lower Breck by beating Burscough 4-2 away.
