Last Saturday we welcomed guests from English National Opera and Walk the Plank into Starkies Bar and onto the terraces at Gigg Lane. Members of our Bury FC grassroots teams, bury ballers and Junior Shakers, enjoyed a special night out at the theatre as they attended the Bury Pantomime at the Met on Tuesday 9th December. With continuing rain in the Bury area over the past couple of days, today’s uncover of the pitch has exposed some areas of concern and a pitch inspection has been able to be arranged for first thing on Saturday morning. The ground staff and volunteers were on hand to remove the covers this afternoon after the rain stopped. They continue to work on the pitch to alleviate these problems and we hope for the weather to match predictions overnight and give it the best chance to drain.

There will be a pitch inspection at 11:15 am due to concerns over the playing surface at Gigg Lane. Concerns were raised before Thursday’s game and due to weather before and during the game the pitch deteriorated quite badly, with only light remedial work having taken place yesterday due the pitch condition.
