  • An Evening With…

Join us on Friday, 13th December in Starkies, for a night of football stories, laughs, and great company!

We will be joined by former Bury player & manager Martin Dobson, former Bury chairman Terry Robinson and current first-team manager Dave McNabb, all hosted by Michael “Braddy” Bradshaw.

Martin Dobson, a prolific midfield player in his era, began his career at Bolton Wanderers before finding success with Burnley, where he spent 13 seasons across two stints, interrupted by a five-year spell with Everton.

During his career, Dobson celebrated two promotions to the top flight with Burnley (1973 and 1982), made 494 appearances, scored 76 goals, and reached FA Cup semi-finals with both Burnley and Everton.

Capped five times for England, he later became player-manager at Bury in 1984, transforming a struggling club with a streamlined squad and exciting signings like Leighton James. In his first full season, he led Bury to promotion from the Fourth Division, eventually establishing them in the Third Division.

For the Shakers, he played 70 games and managed a further 282 matches, Dobson left an enduring legacy of success and attacking football despite limited resources.

On the night, Martin will be launching his autobiography giving guests an early opportunity to purchase a signed copy.

Tickets are £25 or £45 with a signed copy of Martin’s book, this includes:
