Following on from the announcement of our industry-leading college football programme with Football Futures Group which begins in September 2025, Bury Football Club is proud to announce that Football Futures Group have become an official club partner.

As announced in November 2024, this exciting new programme will be based on site at Gigg Lane starting in September 2025 and is set to offer the very best environment and career focused pathways to young people in the region, alongside BTEC Sport vocational studies.

Using the power of Bury FC, the programme promises to be an unrivalled course of its type, providing a variety of opportunities both on and off the pitch. Football Futures will build upon its successful academy site based at the University of Manchester and will help provide further football and employability pathways to all Football Futures students.

Football Futures Managing Director, Paul McGuire, said: “The recruitment period for this new Bury FC location has gone amazingly well, with some really eye-catching players coming onboard. We’re extremely proud to collaborate with a club such as Bury FC with the fantastic people here and we hope to contribute to the re-build of this historic football club. Our dream will be to create players for both the men’s and women’s first teams, whilst also creating routes into careers within football and the wider sports industry for all of our students.”

Casey Lynchey, Bury FC Head of Operations and Community, added: “This is another exciting development for the club and one we were pleased to get over the line. We have been looking at ways to bring further education pathways to Gigg Lane and working alongside Paul McGuire at Football Futures and Access Sport College, with Leon Mike, our U23’s manager, leading the football operations, it is the perfect solution.”

Look out for updates, and a range of showcase games and training sessions throughout the summer, where interested Under 16-17’s can request an invite by emailing Paul McGuire at: headoffice@footballfuturesgroup.com
