Last week, Bury FC proudly joined the celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, embracing the ‘Lots of Socks’ campaign to raise awareness and promote inclusion across our club and wider community.
Players, staff, and supporters came together in fantastic spirit, wearing odd socks as a symbol of individuality and acceptance. From our first teams through to our junior teams and community programmes, the message was clear: differences should be celebrated, and everyone deserves to feel valued and included in the game.
Matchdays saw fans getting involved in great numbers, with colourful socks on display throughout the stands. Our teams also showed their support, helping to spark conversations around Down syndrome and the importance of creating inclusive opportunities within football.
As a club at the heart of its community, Bury FC remains committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do. We are proud to have used our platform to highlight such an important cause.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the campaign such a success.
