Bury FC launches Bury FC Juniors: Paving the Way for Football Excellence in our Community
Bury FC is excited to announce the launch of Bury FC Juniors, a grassroots football club designed to create a talent pathway for young footballers from grassroots right through to our men’s and women’s first teams.
Bury FC Juniors will provide a structured coaching and development program, offering aspiring young talent the necessary resources, guidance and opportunities to excel in their football journey. By establishing a clear progression pathway, Bury FC Juniors is aimed at local talent to help them reach their full potential and pursue their dreams of playing at higher levels.
It is also hoped that creation of community centred junior football provision will create a lasting legacy and help the club to better engage with school aged children and their families, providing a foundation for longer term growth of Bury FC at all levels.
“We are thrilled to introduce Bury FC Juniors to our community,” said Casey Lynchey, Head of Women and Junior football at the club.
“The launch of the juniors section is a significant stride towards building a sustainable and community-oriented football club. Last season we had one junior team who had a very successful season and were led by ex FC Unsworth chairman Matt Barton.
“Matt will now become chair of our new juniors section and we are adding several more teams this year. As well as both boys and girls team from under 10s through to under 16s, we are introducing men’s U21s and women’s U18 teams and these will significantly improve our ability to offer open age football opportunities through dual registrations.
“It has been an exciting project to be involved with and I’m very pleased with the team of talented staff we are bringing on board from both a coaching and administrative perspective and we are looking forward to seeing lots of teams using the excellent new 3G facilities at Gigg Lane.”
Bury FC Juniors Chairperson, Matt Barton, added:
“Bury FC Juniors not only offers young players a clear pathway to progress but also demonstrates our commitment to developing local talent and giving back to the community. We eagerly anticipate the growth and success of our young stars both on and off the field.”
