Bury Football Club is delighted to invite all fans aged 15-17 to apply for a position on the newly established Youth Advisory Board.
As announced at the Members Forum in July, the Youth Advisory Board will work closely with Club staff to establish effective two-way dialogue in a professional and safe environment. Led by Football Supporters’ Society of Bury Board Member, Brad Seymour, the Youth Advisory Board will liaise with the Club and Community Trust. The Club aims to increase engagement with younger supporters and discuss strategic decisions with the next generation of Bury FC fans. The board will discuss youth initiatives, ticketing, events, stadium development, long-term planning and more.
The Youth Advisory Board will be made up of 15-17 year old fans, subject to consent from a parent or guardian. All fans will sit on the board for one season and are welcome to reapply subject to age. Successful supporters will be invited to attend an introductory meeting at Gigg Lane where fans will meet members of the board, discuss expectations and consider their priorities as the new Youth Advisory Board.

Application process
To apply for a position on the Youth Advisory Board, please write a 350-500 word letter of application outlining:
- Why you are interested in being part of the Bury FC Youth Advisory Board
- Why you feel you would be a good representative for younger supporters at Bury FC
- What you feel the main priorities should be for the Youth Advisory Board
- How you think younger supporters can make a difference at Bury FC
Please send all letters of application by email to FSSB Board at secretary@fssb.co.uk. The email should contain the applicant’s name, email address, date of birth and letter of application, as well as the name and contact email address for a parent or guardian. The deadline for applications is 25th September at 8pm. Applications will be shared with the Football Supporters’ Association who will assist with the process.
Our commitment to engage with younger fans will continue throughout the season as we host separate meetings for 11-14 year old fans. More details will be shared in due course.
