Loan Watch – 17/08

It was a busy weekend for our loan and dual-registration players as the FA Trophy and FA Vase kicked off and league action continuing.

Harvey Hampson was the hero for Atherton LR as they progressed in the FA Vase with a penalty shootout victory against Cammell Laird.

With the scores locked at 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes, LR scored 3 of their penalties before Hampson secured their spot in the next round by saving Ben Wood’s spot kick.

Elsewhere in the FA Vase, Oliver Hodgson notched his first goal of the season in Longridge’s 2-1 exit away at Boldon – with Liam Gould also making an appearance from the bench.

Brad Sullivan kept his first clean sheet of the season as Wythenshawe Town progressed with a 3-0 win v Cheadle Heath Nomads.

Three other players were on the wrong side of results as Daisy Hill (Gerry McCullion and Danny Fernandez) and Barnoldswick (Harrison Aubrey-Williams) were both eliminated from the competition.

In the FA Trophy, Freddie Machell played 90 minutes for Clitheroe away at Pontefract with the home side scoring a 94th minute winner.

Finally, in the North West Counties Premier Divison Charlie Cox’s Ramsbottom United travelled to FC Isle of Man but were on the wrong side of a 3-2 result.

Check back every Monday for updates on all of our players out on loan and dual registration!
