Following an approach, Bury Football Club have agreed a deal with Stafford Rangers for the transfer of Luca Navarro.
The 26-year old was Anthony Johnson’s first signing in February and went on to make 22 appearances in White and Blue.
His most notable moment for the Shakers came in April when he was a 71st minute substitute as we trailed 1-0 against Congleton Town.
Navarro scored two goals in two minutes that turned the game on its head and helped push the Club towards the Northern Premier League West title.
Speaking on his departure, manager Anthony Johnson said:
“Luca is at a place and age in his career where he needs to be starting week in, week out and unfortunately at this moment we can’t offer him that guarantee.
As my first signing as manager he’s been absolutely incredible for me and the club. His experience, quality and leadership around the changing room is exactly what we needed at that time.
He’s been involved in some brilliant moments even in his short time at the club and I’m absolutely certain the supporters will remember him very fondly for his contributions to last seasons promotion.
A great lad, and someone I’ll miss on a personal level, but it’s a move both parties couldn’t turn down at this time.
All the very best Luca!”
We echo Jonno’s thoughts and thank him for his efforts in White & Blue and wish him the best of luck in the future!
