We’d like to congratulate former Football Board Chair & FSSB Board member, Marcel De Matas on his inclusion on the King’s Birthday Honours List.
Marcel has received an MBE for his services to football in the town.
As football chair, a role which he began in 2021, Marcel led diligently on football-related matters, covering various roles that make the operations side of the club tick.
From chairing the football board meetings, all the way through the club to liaising with and assisting in managing the large group of matchday volunteers. Throughout his time on the board, he had always been on hand to offer support and guidance to supporters.

Marcel’s well-deserved recognition with an MBE is a testament to the passion, dedication, and tireless effort he has given to our club and community, which he still does from his seat in the stands. His leadership has left a lasting impact, helping to shape a stronger, more unified football environment for all.
