Atherton Collieries are our opponents at Gigg Lane as we return to league action, after a break for the Frank Hannah Premier Cup on Monday night against Maine Road, where a brace from Tyler James and other goals from Gerry McCullion and Patrick Johnrose saw us book our place in the next round.
Our last league outing was one to put behind us, a 3-0 defeat against Witton Albion. The fixture brought the return of Gavin Massey in the starting eleven, as well as a return for DJ Pedro and a debut for Wigan loanee Leo Graham from the bench.
A rare defeat in our last home game against Lower Breck, only our fourth league loss at Gigg Lane since Dave McNabb was appointed in September 2023.
In Opposition – Atherton Collieries

Colls are in their ninth season in the NPL, their fourth in the West Division, the other five spent in the Premier Division. They won promotion from the NWCFL in 2017.
Michael Clegg’s side have won one of their last six, which came last time out vs Sporting Khalsa.
The club was formed in 1916 by miners from the six pits operating in the old urban district of the town. When the pits were nationalised, the football club was gifted to the town.
