The first of three successive away games provides the Shakers with one of the toughest challenges of our season so far. Lower Breck are among the top teams in the league, and look certain to be among those scrapping for the promotion places come April. So they will be keen to end our unbeaten run of 21 games.
The Shakers go into the challenge having had a week to reflect on our outstanding 8-0 home win against Longridge Town and extra training to further boost the skills on view in that game.
Strong in defence, dynamic in midfield and relentlessly threatening up front: we certainly looked the real deal.
Lower Breck also come into this game with a great win fresh in their minds. 5-0 at home against Glossop North End, who we know are no push-overs.
And they also will have had a week off, because a frozen pitch scuppered their mid-week away fixture against FC Helens in the Macron Cup second round.
Our next match at Gigg Lane will be against Colne on Saturday December 7. After Lower Breck we travel to Burscough a week later and Litherland REMYCA on December 4.

In Opposition – Lower Breck
Lower Breck are currently fourth in the league table – two places behind us, with 46 points from 25 games against our 49 from 21. They have won three and drawn two of their last six games.
Formed 14 years ago as a youth team, they play at the Anfield Sports Community Centre. They later joined the Lancashire County Premier League second division, were promoted to the NWCFL in 2019, and went up into the Premier Division in 2021.

Travel: From the North, join the M62 to the end at then turn right onto Queens Drive. After 1.5 miles turn left onto Mill Bank, then after 0.5 miles turn right onto Lower Breck Road. The ground is on your right.
From the North, join the A580 East Lancs Road. 2.5 miles after you pass the M57, bear left onto Townsend Road then after 1.3 miles turn left onto Lower Breck Road. The ground is on your left.

Inside the Ground: The Anfield Sports and Community Centre (ASCC) is a sports and recreation facility located in Breckside Park bordering both Anfield and Tuebrook wards of Liverpool. The Anfield Sports and Community Organization aims to alleviate social and economic disadvantage, principally through promoting sport and other recreational programs to individuals who need it most because of their age, disablement, financial, social or economic circumstances. The facilities currently provide for Community activity across a range of sports and arts based programs.
