There are plenty of good reasons for every available Bury supporter to head to Gigg Lane for the match against Pilkington this weekend.
The lead-up has been about as good as it gets: two away wins in five days and two clean sheets, followed by two training sessions in a rare week clear of matches.
It’s likely that on-loan striker Djavan Pedro will make his first home appearance following his impressive debut at Colne.
And then… you might just catch a glimpse of our old striking-hero Ryan Lowe – special guest in the hospitality venues. We might even get to sing his old Gigg Lane chant! Ryan Lowe…repeat and repeat!
All our hopes for the trips to Colne and Charnock Richard were fulfilled, and the next aspiration is a third successive win with another clean sheet. Mitch Allen has been superb in goal, and thoroughly deserves the greeting he will get from the fans if we pull it off.
We are 16 unbeaten in the league and look to start off the month of November with fireworks of our own. So…come on you (Shakers) fans, we will see you at Gigg Lane to be #PartofIt. Get all your pre-match information below.
In Opposition – Pilkington
Two wins in their last six games represents improvement for third-from-bottom Pilkington. Success against Colne and Charnock Richard and a draw with South Liverpool will have given morale a bit of a boost.
The Greens are in their second season in the Premier Division after winning the Division One North title in 2023. Last season, we won 3-1 in the same fixture with late goals from Billy Reeves & Joe Hobson. Recap the highlights below.
Check out Pilk’s history, from their breakdown available at the NWCFL website HERE. Ryan Beigan will be one to watch who has previously featured at Lower Breck, moving to Pilks in the summer and has eight goals so far this term.
Next week Pilkington might fancy their chances a little more – they’re at home to our neighbours Prestwich Heys, who are having an even tougher time of it. But then a week later they face another daunting prospect…a visit to our other near neighbours and current league leaders Ramsbottom United.
