SOUTH-LIV-AWAY-2025-821x1024.jpg

Nine games to go, and the run in has very much started – and started well. We go to South Liverpool’s Jericho Lane ground in a strong position after a run of six wins on the bounce.

We turned the tables on West Didsbury and Chorlton, and the 2-1 scoreline didn’t reflect our dominance for most of the game. Nevertheless it was sweet revenge for the result in the reverse game just a few short weeks ago.

What told in the end was the high quality and fighting spirit of our players. Josh Gregory’s superb equalising free kick and DJ Pedro’s clinical penalty winner were both of the highest class.

But there’s no room for complacency as Ramsbottom United and the rest of the top six continue to breath down our necks. So, travelling fans – let South Liverpool experience the power of the 12th man. Up the Shakers!!!

In Opposition – South Liverpool

Our opponents are struggling, and we can be sure they’ll be fighting for every point. This is their first season in the premier division, and losing their last five games on the bounce has left them in 21st place out of 24.

South joined the NWCFL three years ago and won the League One North play-off final against Ashton Town on penalties at the end of last season.

The club came into existence just 90 years ago this year and was relaunched in 1991. They’ve had the same manager – Martin Ryman – since the beginning of the third millennium.
