Three games in nine days – it doesn’t happen too often at this level, but we will once again face Stalybridge Celtic for our Bank Holiday Monday fixture at Gigg Lane.

The Shakers will be looking to make amends for last Tuesday’s Emirates FA Cup defeat and pick up all three points.

We picked up a point on the road at Congleton Town on Saturday. Radcliffe loanee Regan Riley made his Bury debut, as he begins his three-month loan spell, you can hear more from him below.

Manager Dave McNabb reflected after the game on how he would need to review recovery amongst the squad, with some players carrying knocks. Aaron Chalmers was withdrawn after 16 minutes due to injury on Saturday. Scott Duxbury & Owen Robinson also remain out through injury.

Just a point separates the two sides at this early stage of the season, with Stalybridge playing a game more. So get down to Gigg Lane and enjoy your bank holiday Monday in the right style!

In Opposition – Stalybridge Celtic

Celtic trace their history back to 1909 and have long been a strong non-league side in this part of the world. They have many successes to their credit – not least twice getting through to the FA Cup second round proper.

They fell to a 3-1 defeat of Witton Albion on Saturday afternoon, meaning they’ve won one drawn one and lost one from their opening three in the NPL West this season.

Former Shakers Ruben Jerome, Jordan Butterworth, Jack Tinning, Charlie Doyle and Andy Scarisbrick are all within the Stalybridge Celtic playing squad.
