Bury Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Jacob Holland-Wilkinson from Lancaster City, subject to league approval.
Manager Dave McNabb swooped in to bring the talented attacking midfielder to Gigg Lane to bolster the engine room as we head into the business end of the season.
Bury-born Jacob, 21, is a Preston North End academy graduate, leaving Deepdale after reserve team appearances for the Lilywhites and in search of first team football. That search resulted in a move to Stoke City in 2022.
Appearences for the Under-21 side followed, as well as two loan stints with the Dolly Blues where he racked up a total of 10 appearances and two goals. Following release from Stoke, Lancaster signed him up permenantly in the summer of 2023.
So far this term, Jacob has scored three goals in 21 appearances in the Northern Premier League.
Manager Dave McNabb states Holland-Wilkinson offers another attacking midfield option:
“Jacob is a player I’ve tracked for a while now since watching him play for Preston’s youth team.
“As an attacking midfielder who can play through the centre or from the side, he’s very intelligent and is excellent technically. A welcome addition to the group and we look forward to working with him and developing his game.”
Jacob is expected to be involved in the matchday squad for Saturday’s trip to Cheadle Town. Tickets can be purchased here.
Welcome to Bury, Jacob!
