Bury Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Ollie Kilner on loan from Oldham Athletic, subject to league approval.
The highly-sought after 19-year-old defender joins the club on a deal until the end of the season.
Kilner started his career as an 8-year-old at Manchester United where he captained his age groups through until Under 16s.
Following a broken leg, he signed a scholarship with the Red Devils before joining Oldham in July 2021.
Kilner said: “I am very happy to be joining Bury and looking forward to getting games under my belt and helping the team.
“Having watched the game at the weekend I am really looking forward to playing at Gigg Lane in front of the fans.”
Manager Dave McNabb says Kilner offers another option across the defence and midfield positions.
“Really excited to get this one over the line. Oliver is a lad I’ve tracked for a while. He was very highly thought of coming through the academy at Manchester United. Unfortunately, Oliver has been a little unlucky with a couple of injuries at key moments in his career.
“He’s a great lad, can play anywhere across the defensive line as well as in midfield so gives us lots of flexibility. Extremely competent on the ball with a great engine and I’m sure he will fit in perfectly.”
Ollie is expected to be involved in the matchday squad for Saturday’s trip to Litherland REMYCA. Tickets can be purchased here.
Welcome to Bury, Ollie!
