We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Owen Robinson from Marine for an undisclosed compensation fee.

The 22-year-old joins us after two years in Crosby. Robinson started out at AFC Fylde before moving to Sunderland.

He made 45 National League North appearances last year after being part of the side which were promoted from the Northern Premier League in the previous campaign.

He’s also had loan spells at Warrington Rylands, Lancaster & Bootle.

Manager, Dave McNabb told us:

“Owen is an outstanding young footballer. Primarily, an attacking midfielder but is capable of playing in 4 or 5 different positions.

“His ability to receive the ball in tight areas is excellent and he is always looking to play forwards and be creative

“He’s a player I know really well having worked with him twice before and following his latest experiences at Marine I’m sure this will be the best version of him so far.

“Welcome to the Shakers Owen”

Owen added:

“Buzzing to be joining Bury FC! I’ve played under Dave McNabb before and know what he’s about – can’t wait to get going again.

“Looking forward to meeting the lads and getting started. Really excited to meet the fans and play infront of such an amazing atmosphere. Let’s have a special season!”

Owen joins us as our third summer signing, following Scott Duxbury & Callum Spooner into Gigg Lane.
