    Over the last few weeks, the club have been working with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) on identifying the individuals who firstly invaded the pitch after the equalising goal was scored, and secondly those who were shown to be fighting with each other and this was portrayed on social media during our Play-off Final at Ericstan Park in early May.     Bury Football Club can confirm the cancellation of Monday’s NWCFL Champions Cup fixture against Charnock Richard. A request was made to push the fixture back by 24 hours, resulting in the NWCFL’s unilateral decision to cancel the game. The refunding of tickets has begun. TicketCo can take up to 30 days to issue refunds during busy times. Tuesday’s friendly against Cheadle Town will go ahead as planned. The club will make no further comment. View the full article

    We are delighted to announce Tony Cunningham as our new club secretary. Tony joins us after nearly 25 years at nearby Ramsbottom United. He started out as the club’s PA man, carried out numerous roles including club secretary – a position he’s held at the club since 2013. Prior to his involvement at the Riverside Stadium, he’d spent time at Mossley & Rossendale United.  He also has a close affinity to Gigg Lane, supporting the Shakers throughout his life, first coming to a game in 1957,

    We have today (Tuesday) had further conversations with Greater Manchester Police, around crowd issues in the play off final at Ericstan Park on Saturday. The police will now be working through a process of identifying the people that encroached on the playing surface when we scored, and also the images on social media of fans fighting.     Following discussions with AFC Liverpool ahead of our game next Saturday (9th November), the club can provide the following update: A request was made to us by AFC Liverpool on 22nd September to move this fixture to the Friday evening (8th) or to an early kick-off (12.30pm) on the originally scheduled date. The reasons given revolved around how a number of their club’s volunteers were due to steward Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa that same evening and consequently, A

    We can confirm that Bury Football Club and manager Andy Welsh have agreed to part company. We would like to thank Andy for his hard work and commitment to the club, the players, and it’s volunteers over the past three and a half years. Andy provided outstanding leadership throughout some difficult and turbulent times, not least during a global pandemic when just playing football was a challenge.     We can confirm our final away game of the season against Cheadle Town will now be played at Broadhurst Park, home of FC United of Manchester. The fixture will take place as planned on Saturday 12th April at 3pm.     There was a short delay in the game restarting towards the end of the 90 minutes on Saturday due to three people attempting to enter the playing area. They were stopped from getting onto the pitch by stewards. Two of them did not co-operate and took some time to be restrained and removed. We have a number of eye witness statements, as well as video evidence, and are conducting our own investigation. We will act to protect the club and everyone working at the club from this behaviour.     The club will not be hosting a fireworks display this year.   Over the summer we installed a new playing surface and a display of this nature would not be appropriate.   A number of supporters have enquired about this event over the past few weeks, with letting supporters know in advance then it helps to plan to attend other events.   We hope you can understand.
