    Following a review of the pitch at Park Road ahead of tomorrow’s planned fixture against Cheadle Town, the surface has been declared unfit and the game has been postponed. The weather has beaten the efforts of the Park Road ground staff, with frozen pitch affecting attempts to prepare the surface for this weekend.     We can confirm tomorrow’s NWCFL fixture with FC Isle of Man has been postponed.   The pitch at Gigg Lane remains frozen after another night of sub-zero temperatures.   As noted in our statement last night, an early decision had to be made for this fixture to be considerate to FC Isle of Man’s travel plans for its players, staff and supporters.   A new date will be announced in due course.     Tonight’s game at Gigg Lane against Pilkington has been called off as the pitch is waterlogged. Persistent spells of rain throughout the day have put paid to the game, with the ground staff facing a battle to manage the amount of rain, on top of an already saturated playing surface, which left standing water in many areas.     This afternoon’s Women’s FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie against Radcliffe has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.   The amount of rain sustained in the last few days has resulted in a large amount of standing water in key areas of the playing surface (as pictured right).   Today’s match referee made a pitch inspection a short time ago and determined that today’s game couldn’t go ahead.   The tie will be re-arranged for next Sunday (8th October), with more details

    We are pleased to confirm after an initial inspection this morning, the pitch has been passed fit to play for this afternoon’s visit of Glossop North End.   Their remain areas that are softer than others, with patches of standing water still present despite the pitch being covered.
