Last Saturday we welcomed guests from English National Opera and Walk the Plank into Starkies Bar and onto the terraces at Gigg Lane.

Soprano Carrie-Ann Williams kicked a ball around with Ladies first teamers Georgia Payton and Holly Davenport and met club legend Nicky Adams, before serenading fans in the bar with some impromptu pre-match opera. Whilst we treated them to a fantastic home win.

Called Perfect Pitch, the project aims to engage with football fans to explore the impact mass singing has on team performance and spectator experience. The team behind the project were blown away by the energy and enthusiasm of the Shakers fans and are bringing a mass choir to the fixture on 29th March vs Squires Gate to join in the chants and provide some half time entertainment. They hope that this will lead to a full outdoor mass participation spectacular later in the year.

ENO and Walk the Plank are looking to engage with the club’s supporters to hear your experiences of supporting Bury and singing at the game. You may see them about the ground over the next month or so.

If you’d like to get involved please contact them at getinvolved@walktheplank.co.uk or contact our community officer Casey Lynchey at communityofficer@buryfc.co.uk.
