DJ Pedro spoke to the club about today’s performance after scoring a brace in a dominant performance for the Shakers.
DJ Pedro: “I thought today the lads were excellent, pressing from the front we mentioned that the other day in training about pressing from the front, staying high and keeping the backline high and that kept us high and winning the ball higher up the pitch and starting the games better and put two halves together and we did.”
He than spoke, us through both his goals in today’s game saying “The first one was a bit of a surprise, we won the ball high up the pitch like I said from pressing and the ball got played through to me and I saw so much space ahead of me so I took a touch and I know I could take it early so I took it early, the keeper got a little touch on it but I knew it was going to end up in the net but yeah I’m happy.”
DJ than spoke about whether he relishes playing centrally in the Bury attack because of Bury attacking strength he said “Today I thought are attack was very good, we scored goals but we created numerous more chances and I feel like in previous more games we’ve not converted those chances and we know that so we worked on that and we talked about it as a team as in not playing as individuals but as a collective and we’re getting better with that week by week and even today we thought in the changing room because we believed we could’ve scored more and being that ruthless team that doesn’t stop hitting the back of the net.”
To finish the interview DJ looked forward to our upcoming away games and whether today’s performance was something to build on saying “Yeah definitely as we’re very motivated as a team right now, we want to push on and we don’t want to drop points anywhere and we want to get three points every week and perform to the level we want to and not drop to a level where we’re not putting two halfs together every single game and give ourselves the best chance.”
