Benito has joined NPL side Stalybridge Celtic on a 28-day loan to get some minutes and regain fitness, joining up with his former manager James Kinsey as Stalybridge continue their push for the NPL playoffs.

Forward Sam Burns has joins Warrington Rylands, also of the NPL, and midfielder Jordan Butterworth also joins up with Benito at Stalybridge. Both players will continue to be signed on dual-registration terms.

Manager Dave McNabb gave us his thoughts on the players moving on:

“Benito is an instrumental player and a big character in the group. Unfortunately, he and us have been frustrated with a number of injuries that prevented his excellent run of form continuing from earlier in the season.

“As we head into the final run-in, a number of clubs made contact about Benito who expressed a wish to go and get some consistent game time. The short term move allows Benito to get that game time with the plan that he will return to the club in the summer. We have discussed an outline for Benito in the summer to get him back in peak physical condition to hit the ground running next season.”

“Sam is an outstanding young player who dropped into non-league following his release by Blackburn Rovers having played multiple games in League 2 during a loan spell with S¿¿¿¿horpe. Sam has always been clear in his ambition to play full-time football and this opportunity for Sam to play Step 3 football is a huge opportunity for him. I’m sure Sam will help Rylands in their promotion push.”

“Jordan has been a very important player for us this season. He has often had to play out of position and has always given his all, every time he’s pulled on a Bury shirt. His attitude and application has been first class. Jordan has moved to Stalybridge in order to play more regularly and wish him well.”

We would like to wish all three the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

The deadline for signings in the NWCFL is Sunday 31st March, so keep it here for more details as we get them.
