  8. Our valiant FA Cup effort came to an end mid-week at Harrogate town, falling cruelly short of a FA Cup first round proper appearance for the first time since the 2018/19 season. But as one door closes another opens for The Shakers, with Prescot Cables visiting Gigg Lane in the FA Trophy First Round this weekend. The first in a run of four consecutive home games, Antony Johnson’s side will be hoping to make the most of our excellent home form against a side a division below. Our opposition currently sit third in the Northern Premier League West Division. In Opposition – Prescot Cables Prescot Cables were founded in 1884, with their name hailing from the largest local employer – insulated cables. The club’s glory years came in the mid-50s, where they were promoted to Lancashire Combination Division One, going on to win the league two seasons after, whilst recording a record 18-3 victory against Great Harwood. The club were promoted to the Northern Premier League Division One in the 2001/02 season, moving to their highest flight, the Northern Premier League Premier Division, just three seasons later. The club currently sit in the Northern Premier League West Division after relegation on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign. 10. Bury FC are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder/forward Ryley Smith from Northern Premier League side Avro. The Bury-born player arrives at Gigg Lane having previously represented Trafford, as well as spending time at Blackpool, where he completed a scholarship. Capable of operating in midfield or further forward, Smith adds another option to Anthony Johnson’s squad as the Shakers continue their Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign. Smith has enjoyed a productive start to the 2026/27 campaign, scoring four goals in 12 appearances for Avro so far this season. The move sees Smith return to his hometown to pull on the Shakers shirt. Jonno said: “Really exciting player. He’s someone that we’ve been watching all season long. We were aware of him when he was at Trafford. He started really well this season with a few goals as well. He’ll enhance our attacking prowess from midfield. An unbelievable option for us. Someone who scores goals, someone who likes to dribble take men on.” The new signing will be unavailable for Saturday’s fixture due to being cup-tied and will also have to serve a three-match suspension. He is expected to be available for selection from our fixture against Bamber Bridge onwards. Welcome to Gigg Lane, Ryley! View the full article

  16. Further to our announcement on 6th October 2026, the FSSB membership portal will go live on the Bury FC Fanbase site on 20 October 2026. You can access the portal through the Fanbase app or website, or by clicking the link below: CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE FANBASE MEMBERSHIP PORTAL Existing FSSB memberships will not transfer automatically to Fanbase. To be clear, no data from the old system will transfer to the new system. You will need to take out a new membership through Fanbase yourself. All Society members will eventually need to move to the new platform, either at a time of your choosing or when the Society contacts you to arrange the move. Keeping in touch We will be contacting members through a new email system. Please add the following address to your contacts: membership-fssb.co.uk@shared1.ccsend.com We will send regular updates to paying members by email, so please ensure the email address associated with your Society membership is correct, current and active. If your email address has changed, please contact membership@fssb.co.uk so we can update our records. When to move your membership Fanbase is an integrated ticketing and membership platform. It is the same platform we use for season and match day tickets. The first stage of the change will be to close the existing system on the FSSB website to new members and make Society memberships available through Fanbase. You can choose to: · Move when your next monthly or annual renewal is due; or · Move sooner by purchasing a new Fanbase membership at the full price. We cannot refund membership fees already paid for the period up to your next renewal date. If you move before that date, those fees will be retained as an additional contribution to support the Society, the Club or our community initiatives. How to move your membership Before you purchase your new membership, cancel any existing payment mandate to FSSB. This will help prevent duplicate payments. Open the Fanbase app or website and sign in or create your account. You may already have an account if you have purchased season tickets or matchday tickets. If you do not have an account, please register. Check that your details are correct, including your current email address and full postal address. Purchase your chosen FSSB Society membership and complete the payment process. Please do not purchase your membership using guest checkout. You must use a personal Fanbase account with your current email address, which will be used for future membership communications. Under the Society’s membership rules, all members must provide a full postal address for the membership register. We cannot accept a membership unless all required information has been provided. Managing your account Fanbase will allow you to manage your own account, including updating your email address, postal address and payment details. Keeping these details up to date will help ensure you receive the latest Society news. Membership fees Please note a correction to our previous email: annual membership with a voluntary contribution towards service fees is £66. The membership options are: · Annual: £60, or £66 with a voluntary contribution towards service fees. · Monthly: £5, or £5.50 with a voluntary contribution towards service fees. The higher payment options help cover service fees so that the Society receives the full intended membership contribution. You may choose whichever option you prefer. Your membership rights are the same whichever option you choose. You can also donate directly to the Society by contacting finance@buryfc.co.uk. Donations do not carry membership rights. Thank you for your continued support. As a member, you have a say in the future of our 100% fan-owned football club, and your contribution is greatly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you to Fanbase and hope the new platform makes managing your membership easier. 29. Welcome back, Dom Telford! | New Signing Interview | Bury FC
  30. Leo Graham - Harrogate Town (H) | Post-Match Interview | Bury FC
  31. Bury Football Club is delighted to announce the return of striker Dom Telford, who rejoins the Shakers on a permanent deal from National League side Gateshead. The 29-year-old forward makes his long-awaited return to Gigg Lane, seven years after departing the club following our promotion-winning 2018/19 campaign. Telford will be a familiar face to Shakers supporters, having played an important role in Ryan Lowe’s side that secured promotion to League One. Originally joining Bury from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, Telford went on to make 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals during his first spell at the club. Following his departure from Gigg Lane in 2019, Telford followed Ryan Lowe to Plymouth Argyle before moving to Newport County in January 2021. His impressive form earned him a move to Crawley Town, before subsequent spells with Barrow and Barnet. Telford joined Gateshead in the summer of 2025, making 22 appearances and scoring four goals during his time with the Heed. Now, seven years on from his departure, Telford returns to a very different Bury Football Club, with the Shakers having secured back-to-back promotions to reach the Northern Premier League Premier Division. His arrival adds further experience and attacking quality to Anthony Johnson’s squad as the Shakers look to continue their progress this season. Welcome back to Gigg Lane, Dom! View the full article

  35. It’s back to Emirates FA Cup action this weekend as The Shakers welcome Harrogate Town in the Fourth Qualifying Round. Our journey so far has seen us best Wythenshawe and Workington, before edging past Bromsgrove Sporting, all at home. Our opponents are high fliers two steps above in the National League, beating Woking in their last outing to move to second. This fixture marks the sides first competitive meeting, with the fixture being broadcast on the BBC. In Opposition – Harrogate Town Despite waiting until 1919 for their first competitive fixture, Harrogate Town were formed in 1914 by a group of locals as ‘Harrogate Hotspur’. In the 1920-21 season, the side entertained high profile friendlies during the holiday period, including visiting Anfield to play Liverpool, and facing Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United in front of 15,000 fans. The club reached the football league for the first time in 2020 when they beat Notts County 3-1 at Wembley in the Play-off final, where they stayed for six years until relegation in the 2025/26 season. Harrogate Town reached the FA Cup Third Round last year where they made the short trip to visit local rivals Leeds United, narrowly losing 1-0.
