  3. Next up Mossley – long-established and highly successful in our region’s non-league circles. And the pressure’s on, following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Sporting Khalsa. As manager Dave McNabb said, it’s a tough league. But we hope the bounce-back will be swift and decisive. We were on top for much of the game in Willenhall, but the ball just wouldn’t go into the net. As a result, we’ve dropped down to second in the league, three points behind new leaders Lower Breck and just one in front of a string of five clubs on 22. Our excellent run of six straight wins in the league took us to 23 points from 10 games. It has now ended, so it’s time to start again – and Mossley would be a good place to do it. We hope lots of fans will make the trip – and make lots of noise. Up the Shakers!!! In Opposition – Mossley Mossley played twice last week, and notched up 0-0 draws against Chasetown away and Runcorn Linnets at home. This took them into 17th position – vacated by Khalsa! – with 12 points from 13 games. The club was established in 1903. Their ground, which has been home since 1911, had previously been a cricket ground and a tip. They’re still in the same location, but over the years have made massive improvements, most recently new floodlights in 2022.
