FA TROPHY - 2nd ROUND QUALIFYING
  14. We’re back to league action under the lights at Gigg Lane after Saturday’s encouraging Isuzu FA Trophy 3-1 victory over Wythenshawe Town. This was a good result against another team from the same league as ourselves – albeit below us in a table which at the moment is rather meaningless. We can expect the Linnets to provide a much tougher test. They are in fifth place with eight points from four games and still in the FA Cup. We currently lie in 18th place, having won one game, drawn two and lost one. Saturday’s result will hopefully get the pendulim swinging in the right direction and we can kick on and start to climb the table! But, as always, we can’t do it without your help! So get down to Gigg and get behind the lads. Up the Shakers!! In Opposition – Runcorn Linnets The Yellows have done well in the league in recent seasons, reaching the play-offs in three out of the last four and last term winning the Cheshire Senior Cup. It’s only 19 years since the club took its present form – similar to ours – when supporters of a former amateur club got together to launch a semi-professional team. On the Day & In the GroundOur Matchday @ Gigg guide is available to read to find out everything you need to know going on in and around the ground. Tickets are still on sale via our ticketing page on our website. Pay on the gate will also be available. Starkies will be open at the normal time of 6pm for supporters to access from the Manchester Road End entrance before kick-off. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis up to capacity, which will be managed on the door. Starkies will remain open throughout the game (for those in the main stand only) as well as after the game. Matchday Media CoverageIf you are unable to make it to the action at Gigg Lane, we’ll have all the live coverage across our media platforms. Live Stream: We are able to broadcast this fixture worldwide via our streaming service, accessible through TicketCo. The cost is £7.29 (inc.VAT & fees). Season ticket holders can gain access to live streams for FREE as part of their season ticket purchase. Enter your 5-letter reference code from your season ticket receipt in the ‘Promocode’ box and click apply. Your link to access the game will be provided in your receipt following the transaction. Live stream tickets will be available to purchase from Tuesday at midday, on our ticket webpage HERE. Audio Commentary: Roch Valley Radio will be providing commentary for this game (UK only, due to competition broadcasting rules). Join the team from the press box at Gigg Lane. Click here ahead of kick-off to listen live. Audio commentary will be provided for every game of the season, so you will never miss a piece of the action. 16. It’s back to Gigg Lane on Saturday for an Isuzu FA Trophy match against Wythenshawe Town as we look to get back to winning ways. After our record-breaking 2024-25 season, it’s been a slow start to the new season and our dismissal from the FA Cup raises the stakes for FA Trophy. Our players and coaching staff have gone flat out to make good use of the 11-day break from matches, so as the team walks out to face Wythy Town let’s blow them away with our support. New signing Gavin Massey spoke to our media team ahead of the weekend and he hopes that he will be able to be able to use his extensive football league experience to galvanise the squad. See you Saturday Shakers! Be part of it. Be Loud and be proud! Get to Gigg and make it as loud as possible. Come on the Bury!! In Opposition – Wyhtenshawe Town Town have a new manager in Chris Wilcock and a host of new players brought in after the struggles of their first season in the NPLW. They avoided relegation on a technicality, and so far there’s no sign of a revival this time. They’re currently in 19th place – one below us – with four points from five games, compared with our five from four. On the Day & In the GroundOur Matchday @ Gigg guide is available to read to find out everything you need to know going on in and around the ground. Tickets are still on sale via our ticketing page on our website. Pay on the gate will also be available. Starkies will remain open throughout the game (for those in the main stand only) as well as after the game. Jacket potato van ‘Get Stuffed’ will be in the car park, serving from 12:30pm. We will be screening the England VS Andorra match from 5pm in both Starkies and The 1885 Suite (once the 1885 Suite shuts ticket holders are welcome to move up to Starkies for the remainder of the game) Matchday Media CoverageIf you are unable to make it to the action at Gigg Lane, we’ll have all the live coverage across our media platforms. 17. We are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Gavin Massey. The 32-year-old joins the Shakers after leaving AFC Fylde in the summer and brings over 400 EFL appearances to Gigg Lane. He started out at Watford, making various loan moves until he left in 2012 to sign permanently for Colchester United, after a loan move in the previous season. Massey then moved from Essex to London, where he spent a season at Leyton Orient before a move to Wigan in 2017, where he went on to make over 150 appearances in five seasons. Port Vale were his last club in the EFL, where he played for two seasons, until he joined AFC Fylde last summer. He’s made seven appearances against the Shakers to date, most recently off the bench for Wigan in the 2017/18 season. His last start at Gigg Lane brought him a goal and an assist for Colchester United in a 5-2 defeat in February 2016. Manager, Dave McNabb said: Massey will be available for selection for Saturday’s Isuzu FA Trophy tie against Wythenshawe Town. You’ll be able to hear his first interview on the club’s YouTube channel very shortly. View the full article

  24. Three games in nine days – it doesn’t happen too often at this level, but we will once again face Stalybridge Celtic for our Bank Holiday Monday fixture at Gigg Lane. The Shakers will be looking to make amends for last Tuesday’s Emirates FA Cup defeat and pick up all three points. We picked up a point on the road at Congleton Town on Saturday. Radcliffe loanee Regan Riley made his Bury debut, as he begins his three-month loan spell, you can hear more from him below. Manager Dave McNabb reflected after the game on how he would need to review recovery amongst the squad, with some players carrying knocks. Aaron Chalmers was withdrawn after 16 minutes due to injury on Saturday. Scott Duxbury & Owen Robinson also remain out through injury. Just a point separates the two sides at this early stage of the season, with Stalybridge playing a game more. So get down to Gigg Lane and enjoy your bank holiday Monday in the right style! In Opposition – Stalybridge Celtic Celtic trace their history back to 1909 and have long been a strong non-league side in this part of the world. They have many successes to their credit – not least twice getting through to the FA Cup second round proper. They fell to a 3-1 defeat of Witton Albion on Saturday afternoon, meaning they’ve won one drawn one and lost one from their opening three in the NPL West this season. Former Shakers Ruben Jerome, Jordan Butterworth, Jack Tinning, Charlie Doyle and Andy Scarisbrick are all within the Stalybridge Celtic playing squad. On the Day & In the GroundOur Matchday @ Gigg guide is available to read to find out everything you need to know going on in and around the ground. 25. We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of midfielder Regan Riley from Radcliffe. The 22-year-old arrives at Gigg Lane with an impressive footballing background, having progressed through the Bolton Wanderers academy, where he spent over a decade before making his senior debut as a 16-year-old in August 2019 against Tranmere Rovers. Riley went on to sign for Norwich City in the summer of 2021 for a significant fee, spending three seasons with the Championship side. During his time at Carrow Road, he became a regular feature for their Under-21 squad, continuing his development in a highly competitive environment. Born in Bolton, Riley returned to Greater Manchester in 2024 with Radcliffe, where he established himself as a versatile and committed player. Primarily recognised as a box-to-box midfielder, he brings tenacity, intelligence, and energy to the middle of the park. His ability to win duels, read the game, and contribute defensively and offensively makes him a valuable addition to the squad. In addition to his midfield qualities, Riley is also capable of operating as a right back or right wing-back, offering further versatility to the team. Manager, Dave McNabb said: “Regan is box to box midfielder who can also play as a full back. He is very technical and brings a real energy and athleticism.” Everyone at Bury FC extends a warm welcome to Regan, and we look forward to seeing him in action at Gigg Lane. View the full article
