We have today (Tuesday) had further conversations with Greater Manchester Police, around crowd issues in the play off final at Ericstan Park on Saturday. The police will now be working through a process of identifying the people that encroached on the playing surface when we scored, and also the images on social media of fans fighting. We are a community club, and some of the scenes experienced in both the stands and again unfortunately on the pitch, are not acceptable. It was elation for Shakers fans at Gigg Lane on Tuesday evening as we beat a strong Charnock side and booked our place, courtesy of a Tanaka Cherera SCREAMER, in the North West Counties Premier Division Play Off Final for an encounter that will see us take on Wythenshawe Town at their Ericstan Park Ground. Unfortunately, due to the change in circumstances of accommodating the Big Screen event at Gigg Lane this weekend for the Play-Off Final screening, the club have had to make the tough decision to postpone the Awards Day this coming Sunday. The event preparations have been underway for some time and we are very sad to have to make this decision at such short notice. We have been given permission to Live Stream this Saturday’s Play-Off Final from Ericstan Park and this will be broadcast inside Gigg Lane, via a large 22sq metre screen positioned on the pitch. It includes a built in sound system. We can accommodate 1,100 people in the South Stand for this event, with tickets priced at £6 adults and £2 U16s. We head to Ericstan Park this weekend to take on Wythenshawe Town in the Play-Off Final of the NWCFL Premier Division. The winner takes their place in the Northern Premier League next season.
