Dave McNabb’s side come into Saturday’s game away at Chadderton with a full week of training behind them after last weekend’s emphatic win away at Barnoldswick Town.   A squad made up of mainly Under 23s featured in Tuesday night’s Manchester Cup tie away at Glossop North End, which ended 2-0 to the oppositions.   Shakeel Jones-Griffiths & Lewis Gilboy also featured in the squad for the midweek trip, giving them both an opportunity to step up into a senior role.  

This home cup-tie provides us with a double benefit: we can give Under-23s players game time and have an extra training session before the tough fixture against high-flying Lower Breck on Saturday.   It also gives fans a chance to get along to Gigg Lane to recall and celebrate our outstanding performance of the season. The stunning 8-0 home win against Longridge gave morale a massive boost right across the club.   And there will now be no NWCFL game at Gigg Lane until we entertain

The Shakers face a tough third cup match in eight days, as they prepare to take on Chadderton in the First Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase this Saturday. Our FA Cup journey continues as head over to Charnock Richard this weekend for the first preliminary round tie at Mossie Park.   We overcame Uttoxeter Town in the last round, with a 4-1 win at Gigg Lane. Uttoxeter took the lead early in the first half from a deflected effort, before Lowe and Higgins took us into the break with a 2-1 lead.
