Work Gets Underway at Gigg Lane

The pitch at Gigg Lane has started to be removed ahead of the artificial 3G surface being laid this summer to be ready for the start of the 2024/25 season.
Contractors McArdle Sport Tec began work last week by removing the top layers across the majority of the pitch before the deep dig occurs, and upgraded drainage is provided when the new base layers are installed.

The works are due to be complete in early August, and whilst all of our pre-season games will need to be staged away from home, as well as the first couple of games of the season, we can't wait to have all of our teams based from Gigg for the first time.

    End Of Season Awards Presentation

It’s been a long hard season for all concerned at Bury Football Club with our first team falling heartbreakingly short in a playoff final penalty shootout against Wythenshawe Town.

However, it is essential that we celebrate the successes of all of our teams within the Bury Football Club family as we complete our first season back at Gigg Lane.

In this regard, we would like to invite supporters to join us on Saturday 18th May at Gigg Lane to be part of our rearranged end of season celebrations, where we plan to recognise the efforts and achievements of all of our teams.

Tickets for this event are limited due to restrictions in place at Gigg Lane, whilst pitch works are being undertaken. 250 spaces will be available free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

The gates open at 1 pm, with the awards being given out from 2 pm.

This event will be a lower key event than originally planned owing to ongoing works at Gigg Lane and to it being holiday season for the players. There should, however, be representation from the men’s first team, women’s first team, men’s U23s and our junior team (U12s).

Entry is through the Manchester Road End turnstiles by ticket only.

Food will be available from Cugini Pizza with a pop up bar being open for refreshments including alcoholic beverages.

    Fan Forum: June 2024

Have you got a question for the manager or the board?

We will be hosting our second fan forum of the year on Friday 28th June from 7:30 pm in Starkies at Gigg Lane.

First Team Manager Dave McNabb, CEO Neil Sears, Football Board Chair Marcel De Matas & FSSB Board Member Jon Newby will be appearing on the panel.

The four will take questions on football-related matters, it would be appreciated if these could be sent in advance to media@buryfc.co.uk. The panel will also be happy for questions to be taken on the night.

This will be a ticketed event on a first come first served basis with tickets costing £5 (inc. free drink from the bar).
