  1. Bury Football Club is proud to announce a new charitable partnership with Jason Yeo and Prost8, a UK-based charity dedicated to raising awareness and expanding access to minimally invasive treatments for early-stage prostate cancer. This partnership marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to community wellbeing, men’s health, and early cancer detection. Through this collaboration, we aim to help break the stigma around prostate cancer, encourage open conversations, and support Prost8’s vital work in funding modern, life-changing treatment options across the country. Why Prost8? Every year, thousands of men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, many of them with early-stage disease where modern treatments can offer excellent outcomes with fewer side effects. Prost8 is leading the charge in making these options more widely available and educating the public on the importance of early detection. Huge thanks to Bury FC volunteer Warren Stone for not only facilitating the partnership but raising £130 which is being donated to The Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal. Thanks also to club partner NB Signs for generously producing the Prost8 advertising board that is now featured on the Main Stand at Gigg Lane. Up the Shakers – and up the fight against prostate cancer! View the full article
  2. As we head full of enthusiasm into the new 2025/26 football season, we recently got together with our friends and colleagues at NYCDA to celebrate the success of our ‘Treasureline’ weekly draw partnership and to make plans for the future. With a back-drop of a full pitch of community football activity at Gigg Lane and sheltering from the obligatory summer rain, you can see we were delighted to receive £16,532.36 for the most recent 12 months. This is huge for the club and we very much appreciate everyone who is involved. It is worth noting that this partnership has managed to raise a wonderful £67,000 for local activities over the last 4 years. For those supporting the club this way, by participating in the NYCDA Weekly Draw, all proceeds continue to be used to support the club’s activities across the Borough of Bury to grow our men’s and womens’ youth and elite player development programmes. Going forward activity behind the scenes will ramp up around events and match days, so please keep an eye out on club platforms in the coming weeks. Members can play for as little as £1 per week with the opportunity to win big. Fantastic cash amounts including a main weekly £1000.00 prize, as well as a £500 Rollover, which can rise to a huge £10,000, are up for grabs. 4. We are delighted to confirm the signing of centre-back Louis Isherwood. The 23-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Widnes, including a title win last season before the club’s unfortunate demise. Isherwood started out at Wigan, where assistant manager Tim Lees coached him in the club’s Under 9s & 10s team before a move to Liverpool, where he was coached by Tim once again in the Under 13s. He returned to Wigan before a move to Chorley’s youth setup, then progressing into their first-team setup. He had two NPL loan spells at City of Liverpool & Bootle. The latter being under our Head of Recruitment, Brian Richardson. Upon signing, Louis said: “I’m really proud to be joining a club with such a rich history and a massive fan base. It’s a top-quality group, from the players to the staff. The moment I played with the team, I felt like I fit in straight away. I know I’ve got a lot to offer, and I’ll do everything I can to push the team to a successful season.” Manager, Dave McNabb added: “Really pleased to get Louis into the club. He’s a centre back who’s got a bit of everything. He’s big, strong, dominant, quick and can play. “Even though he’s only 23, he has a lot of games under his belt, including 44 appearances last season for Widnes, where he was a key part of their NPL West title-winning side. He knows the league, and I’m sure those experiences will help him fit in straight away.” View the full article
