We are reviewing allegations of an incident that occurred following the conclusion of Friday’s match at Anfield Sports Community Centre. Bury FC takes a zero-tolerance approach towards abusive, foul, or aggressive language/behaviour and reserves the right to sanction any supporter whose conduct falls foul of the club’s supporter sanction guidelines. Since the turn of the year, the club and weekly draw partners NYCDA have been busy behind the scenes on our ‘Treasureline’ partnership. This has seen us continue to raise awareness, source new membership and, very importantly, celebrating our successes. We were delighted to share some good news recently with long standing fan Diane Bohan and her family, who are all season ticket holders at the club. Last year Diane was pleased to win the main £1000 cash prize via Treasureline and the NYCDA Weekly Draw. Diane joined us for a cheque presentation ahead of the Sporting Khalsa match last weekend at Gigg Lane as part of the celebrations, she’s joined by Owen Robinson and Lewis Rawsthorn with the giant cheque on the big day. Bury FC have today agreed terms for the transfer of Veron Parny from Clitheroe FC. The 25 year old, originally from France, came to England to study in Manchester at 19 having started his career with AAS Sarcelles. Parny joined Clitheroe ahead of the 2023/24 season, having previously representing Wythenshawe Town. He has played 16 times for Clitheroe in the NPL West this season, scoring 7 goals, and goes straight into Anthony Johnson’s squad for Friday night’s clash with Lower Breck. View the full article

We are delighted to support BARDOC’s of a new competition for primary school children across Bury and the surrounding areas, encouraging young people to learn about healthy living in a fun and creative way. The competition, titled “Healthy Hero Competition”, invites primary school aged children to submit a drawing showing what being a Healthy Hero means to them. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, and the positive health message. The initiative forms part of BARDOC’s ongoing commitment to supporting wellbeing within local communities. We have shared this competition to all our junior teams of primary school age and many are expected to get involved. Hannah Brindle, Community Development Officer at Bury FC said: “We’re proud to support BARDOC in launching the Healthy Hero Competition and encouraging children across Bury to think creatively about what it means to live a healthy lifestyle. At Bury FC, we are passionate about inspiring young people both on and off the pitch, and this initiative is a fantastic way to promote positive habits around physical activity, nutrition and mental wellbeing in a fun and engaging way. We’re really looking forward to seeing the imaginative entries from our junior teams and the wider community.” Sara Frost – Head of People Services at BARDOC added: “We are excited to launch this competition and give children the opportunity to express their ideas about health and wellbeing. This February half term, Bury FC proudly hosted an action-packed Football Camp at Gigg Lane. It was a fantastic few days filled with football and fun challenges. There was plenty of smiles, as children from across the local community came together to enjoy their chance to play at Gigg Lane. The camp was a huge success, giving young players the opportunity to develop their football skills, build confidence, and make new friends. The children also got to experience a stadium tour! We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting our local community both on and off the pitch. A huge thank you to our brilliant coaches and everyone involved in making the February Half Term Football Camp such a success. We loved every minute! Another winning weekend for The Shakers after new gaffer Anthony Johnson led us to his first home game win against Sporting Khalsa. This week we head to Anfield Sports Centre to take on Lower Breck in a head to head clash for the top of the table position. In our last encounter in November, Lower Breck secured the 2-0 win, but this Friday we’re fighting to reverse that result. As we remain unbeaten for thirteen games, we currently hold top spot, with Breck sitting 2nd. Jonno takes to the Gigg Lane dugout for the first time as Shakers boss, and it’s also a chance for Luca Navarro to make his maiden appearance at home after coming off the bench for his debut at Shifnal Town on Wednesday evening. They play at the Asprey Arena and currently sit 16th in the table. Their back to back wins mean they are moving further up the table and away from relegation. We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder, Luca Navarro, from Ashton United. Three days after managing his first game for the Shakers, Anthony Johnson has completed his first signing for the club, reuniting with Navarro as he departs the NPL Premier side. Jonno has previously coached the 26-year-old at Radcliffe FC, where he finished as the club’s top scorer, with 16 goals in the 22/23 season. Born in Manchester, Navarro started out at Hull City’s academy, before moving to Bolton. From there, he has represented the likes of Bamber Bridge, Buxton, Radcliffe, Stafford Rangers, FC United of Manchester and lastly Ashton United. After our 1-0 win at Wythenshawe Town, we take top position and are leaders of the Northern Premier League West division. This week, for the fourth time lucky, The Shakers are back on the road to face Shifnal Town for a long-awaited clash with the team who currently sit eighth in the league. This game was originally scheduled for Saturday 6th December but has since been postponed three times due to a waterlogged and frozen pitches at the Acoustafoam Stadium. In Opposition – Shifnal Town Shifnal is a Shropshire town about 4 miles east of Telford, and they are also in their debut season in the Northern Premier League after promotion from the Midland League at the end of last season.
