  6. After a successful start to the Play It Safe programme, funded by the NPL Trident Community Foundation, the Bury FC Community Sports Trust would like to provide an update on the progress made so far. The Play It Safe programme, which began this summer, has completed six successful sessions so far, with over 15 participants getting involved. As the programme reaches its halfway point, we look forward to building on this positive start and welcoming even more young people in the coming weeks. Play it Safe has given young people aged 16-25, to take part in weekly football sessions to improve vital qualities such as fitness, skill development and teamwork. The programme delivered by Bury FC Community Sports Trust also recognises the importance of health and wellbeing of the next generation; therefore, participants have had the chance to take part in various different workshops covering topics such as mental health and wellbeing and sexual health awareness. A big thank you too our community partners; Andy’s Man Club, HCRG care group and Kooth for delivering workshops over the current weeks. What is next? In the coming weeks, alongside further football sessions at Gigg Lane, the programme will deliver additional workshops addressing important issues affecting young people, including debt management and knife crime awareness. These sessions will provide valuable information and support as the programme continues to help young people develop both on and off the pitch. You can access the portal through the Fanbase app or website, or by clicking the link below: CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE FANBASE MEMBERSHIP PORTAL Existing FSSB memberships will not transfer automatically to Fanbase. To be clear, no data from the old system will transfer to the new system. You will need to take out a new membership through Fanbase yourself. All Society members will eventually need to move to the new platform, either at a time of your choosing or when the Society contacts you to arrange the move. Keeping in touch We will be contacting members through a new email system. Please add the following address to your contacts: membership-fssb.co.uk@shared1.ccsend.com We will send regular updates to paying members by email, so please ensure the email address associated with your Society membership is correct, current and active. If your email address has changed, please contact membership@fssb.co.uk so we can update our records. When to move your membership Fanbase is an integrated ticketing and membership platform. It is the same platform we use for season and match day tickets. The first stage of the change will be to close the existing system on the FSSB website to new members and make Society memberships available through Fanbase. You can choose to: · Move when your next monthly or annual renewal is due; or · Move sooner by purchasing a new Fanbase membership at the full price. We cannot refund membership fees already paid for the period up to your next renewal date. If you move before that date, those fees will be retained as an additional contribution to support the Society, the Club or our community initiatives. How to move your membership Before you purchase your new membership, cancel any existing payment mandate to FSSB. This will help prevent duplicate payments. Open the Fanbase app or website and sign in or create your account. You may already have an account if you have purchased season tickets or matchday tickets. If you do not have an account, please register. Check that your details are correct, including your current email address and full postal address. Purchase your chosen FSSB Society membership and complete the payment process. Please do not purchase your membership using guest checkout. You must use a personal Fanbase account with your current email address, which will be used for future membership communications. Membership fees Please note a correction to our previous email: annual membership with a voluntary contribution towards service fees is £66. The membership options are: · Annual: £60, or £66 with a voluntary contribution towards service fees. · Monthly: £5, or £5.50 with a voluntary contribution towards service fees. Your membership rights are the same whichever option you choose. You can also donate directly to the Society by contacting finance@buryfc.co.uk. Donations do not carry membership rights. Thank you for your continued support. As a member, you have a say in the future of our 100% fan-owned football club, and your contribution is greatly appreciated. 21. Bury Football Club is delighted to announce the return of striker Dom Telford, who rejoins the Shakers on a permanent deal from National League side Gateshead. The 29-year-old forward makes his long-awaited return to Gigg Lane, seven years after departing the club following our promotion-winning 2018/19 campaign. Telford will be a familiar face to Shakers supporters, having played an important role in Ryan Lowe’s side that secured promotion to League One. Originally joining Bury from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, Telford went on to make 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals during his first spell at the club. Following his departure from Gigg Lane in 2019, Telford followed Ryan Lowe to Plymouth Argyle before moving to Newport County in January 2021. His impressive form earned him a move to Crawley Town, before subsequent spells with Barrow and Barnet. Telford joined Gateshead in the summer of 2025, making 22 appearances and scoring four goals during his time with the Heed. Now, seven years on from his departure, Telford returns to a very different Bury Football Club, with the Shakers having secured back-to-back promotions to reach the Northern Premier League Premier Division. His arrival adds further experience and attacking quality to Anthony Johnson’s squad as the Shakers look to continue their progress this season. Welcome back to Gigg Lane, Dom! View the full article

  25. It’s back to Emirates FA Cup action this weekend as The Shakers welcome Harrogate Town in the Fourth Qualifying Round. Our journey so far has seen us best Wythenshawe and Workington, before edging past Bromsgrove Sporting, all at home. Our opponents are high fliers two steps above in the National League, beating Woking in their last outing to move to second. This fixture marks the sides first competitive meeting, with the fixture being broadcast on the BBC. In Opposition – Harrogate Town Despite waiting until 1919 for their first competitive fixture, Harrogate Town were formed in 1914 by a group of locals as ‘Harrogate Hotspur’. In the 1920-21 season, the side entertained high profile friendlies during the holiday period, including visiting Anfield to play Liverpool, and facing Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United in front of 15,000 fans. The club reached the football league for the first time in 2020 when they beat Notts County 3-1 at Wembley in the Play-off final, where they stayed for six years until relegation in the 2025/26 season. Harrogate Town reached the FA Cup Third Round last year where they made the short trip to visit local rivals Leeds United, narrowly losing 1-0. 27. With our Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie against Harrogate Town fast approaching, we want to make supporters aware of several important matchday arrangements ahead of Saturday’s fixture at Gigg Lane. The Shakers welcome National League opposition to the Salford Van Hire Stadium on Saturday 17th October, with a place in the First Round Proper at stake. With a bumper crowd expected and several changes to our usual matchday operations, we strongly encourage all supporters to familiarise themselves with the information below and arrive early. Matchday Timings Saturday’s fixture will kick off at the earlier time of 12:30pm, following the game’s selection for live coverage on BBC Red Button and BBC iPlayer. Our matchday opening times have been adjusted accordingly: 10am: Hospitality areas & Starkies open 11am: Turnstiles open 12pm: Alcohol sales at kiosks close 12:30pm: Kick-off We anticipate a busy build-up to the fixture and encourage supporters to allow additional time for their journey and entry into the stadium. Supporters are also encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance via Fanbase to help make entry as smooth as possible and allow us to plan and cater accordingly. South Stand Arrangements Due to the requirements of the BBC’s television broadcast, a temporary television scaffold has been installed within the South Stand. This means that several areas of the stand will be unavailable for Saturday’s fixture. The following blocks and rows will be closed: Blocks E and F: Fully closed Block D: Rows L onwards closed Block G: Rows E onwards closed Block H: Rows L onwards closed The Wheelchair Enclosure will remain unaffected and will operate as normal. We appreciate these arrangements will affect supporters who would usually watch the game from these areas and thank everyone for their understanding. With reduced seating availability in the South Stand, we particularly encourage supporters to arrive early. Unreserved Seating As is customary for cup fixtures at Gigg Lane, unreserved seating will be in operation for Saturday’s game. Supporters will be able to choose their seats within the areas available to them on a first-come, first-served basis. With a large attendance anticipated and the reduced capacity in the South Stand, we strongly recommend entering the stadium as early as possible to secure your preferred seating. Please note, Block E & F in the main stand is strictly reserved for media, hospitality guests, directors and guests only. Without the correct pass or wristband, you will not be allowed to sit in this area. Admissions & Segregation Full segregation will be in place for Saturday’s fixture. We have the necessary provisions in place to open all areas of the stadium, subject to ticket sales and demand and a final decision will be made on Thursday evening. We are keen to ensure that our resources are used responsibly and that the club avoids unnecessary costs associated with opening stands where demand does not justify it. We therefore strongly encourage supporters to purchase their tickets in advance to help us plan accordingly and ensure the best possible matchday experience for everyone. We ask all supporters to follow the relevant signage and directions from stewards when entering and moving around the ground. Fans will be subject to security searches on entry to the stadium as part of our matchday safety procedures. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Alcohol Regulations There will be important changes to our usual alcohol arrangements for this fixture. Due to Harrogate Town’s participation at Step 1 of the National League System, the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 applies. This means alcohol cannot be consumed within sight of the pitch at any time, including in the stands and seating areas. Alcohol will remain available in designated kiosks and hospitality areas where consumption is permitted, but supporters will not be allowed to take alcoholic drinks into the stands or to their seats. Alcohol sales at stadium kiosks will close at 12pm. After this time, kiosks will remain open for food and non-alcoholic refreshments, including tea, coffee and soft drinks. Please note, no alcohol is permitted to be sold in the Thatchers van in the South Stand for this fixture, but it will be open throughout for soft drinks and snacks. We ask all supporters to respect these regulations and follow the instructions of our stewards and staff, to avoid ejection from the stadium. Starkies Bar Starkies bar will be open from 10am. Due to logistics and restricted movement between stands, particularly as the South Stand is already sold out, Starkies will only be open for fans in the Main Stand. Entry will be subject to capacity, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. Matchday Fanzone A matchday fanzone will be in operation in the stadium car park ahead of Saturday’s fixture, providing supporters with an opportunity to enjoy the build-up to this huge FA Cup occasion. We encourage supporters to arrive early, soak up the pre-match atmosphere and make the most of the occasion before heading into the stadium. Local singer, Kieran Arnold will be performing in the Memorial Garden, Peeler the Mascot will be in attendance for pictures with fans and the club shop will be open for merchandise. Additionally, refreshments will be available in the car park with Art of Coffee selling a range of hot and cold drinks and cakes and new vendor ‘Portia’s Pantry’ selling breakfast baps and pastries. Parking & Travel Parking will be limited for this fixture and as always is allocated on a first come, first served basis. We have been informed that the majority of roadworks in the close proximity of Gigg Lane will be completed by Friday. However, we still suggest allowing additional time as the area around the stadium will be busy. Please be mindful of residents when parking and do not block driveways or park on double yellow lines. Parking enforcement officers will be patrolling the area, and vehicles parked illegally may be subject to a penalty charge notice. Arrive Early and Plan Ahead With the earlier kick-off, expected attendance and changes to our usual stadium arrangements, we anticipate a particularly busy matchday at Gigg Lane. Supporters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, purchase tickets before arriving and allow plenty of time to enter the stadium. Our staff and volunteers will be working hard throughout the morning to ensure everyone can enjoy the occasion safely and comfortably. We thank supporters for their patience and cooperation and look forward to welcoming everyone to Gigg Lane. View the full article

  32. Anthony Johnson - Alfreton Town (A) | Post-Match Interview | Bury FC
  33. DJ Pedro was once again the hero coming off the bench to score a brilliant lobbed goal in the 88th minute away at Alfreton Town, the hard fought 3-2 win the perfect antidote to Bury’s recent away day troubles. After the tough loss away to Stockton Town Bury made three changes to the team. DJ Pedro had a welcome return to the bench after six weeks out injured. Looking to make amends from midweek the Shakers came out of the blocks quickly. A James Neild cross was glanced wide by Owen Robinson in an early chance. It was Rustam Stepans who gave the visitors the lead. Taking a free kick from a tight angle near the corner flag. His ball into the box stayed low, eluded the defence and landed into the far corner of the goal. Bury quickly doubled their lead. From a counterattack a Tom Carr shot was deflected out for a corner. From the resulting set piece Louis Isherwood was hauled down at far post and the referee pointed to the spot. Owen Robinson who had announced a new contract extension pre match celebrated the event by scoring the penalty. Bury looked in control during the first half Stepans, Robinson and Neild in particular looked sharp on the Bury right wing. When the home side did create a chance, Kasper Williams flicking a header goalwards, Mitch Allen was on hand to produce a super save. The Shakers wouldn’t get into the halftime break with a clean sheet however. A simple ball over the top to Alfreton centre forward Siya Ligendza allowed him to finish well grabbing a goal back for the hosts. It seemed to shake Bury’s confidence and after the break they looked nervous and off the pace. They struggled to keep possession and every long ball forward by Alfreton threatened an equaliser. The visitors did have chances, a Robinson shot was deflected wide and Stepans arriving at the last second to meet a Kai Evans cross put his diving effort onto the post. Those missed chances came back to haunt them. A minute after seeing their chance hit the post Bury were brought back to 2-2. Ligendza pulled the ball from the byline Daniel Odunaiya who slammed in the equaliser. Pegged back and undoubtedly on the ropes the last minutes of the match passed slowly. It seemed Anthony Johnson’s 800th match in management would at best end in an uneasy draw. Cometh the hour, cometh the man DJ Pedro on as a substitute was allowed the time and space to loft a ball over the head of Reds keeper Alfie Roberts with a volley and into the goal for the Bury winner. Pedro ran the full length of the pitch through teammates’ and coaches’ celebrations into the arms of the delirious Shakers away support. View lineups and more in our match centre. 35. We are delighted to confirm that midfielder Owen Robinson has signed a new contract with Bury Football Club. The 23-year-old joined The Shakers in May 2025 from Marine has since established himself as an important member of the squad at Gigg Lane. During his first season with The Shakers, following a pre-season injury, Robinson made 18 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing four assists as Bury secured the Northern Premier League West title. The Liverpool-born midfielder has carried that form into the 2026/27 season, making 12 appearances across all competitions so far, scoring three goals and registering two assists. He has already found the net against Ilkeston Town, Wythenshawe and Emley AFC, while also providing assists in the victories over Wythenshawe and Emley. In total, Robinson has made 30 competitive appearances for The Shakers across the two seasons, scoring six goals and registering six assists. Manager Anthony Johnson expressed his delight at securing Robinson’s future at Gigg Lane. Robinson added: “It’s an amazing feeling to extend my deal at the club. Prior to joining Bury, Robinson began his career at AFC Fylde before moving to Sunderland. He has also enjoyed loan spells at Warrington Rylands, Lancaster City and Bootle. We look forward to seeing Owen continue his development in a Bury shirt! View the full article
