This is a fantastic opportunity for young fans to get right to the heart of the action, experience the buzz of matchday and be part of the Bury FC family. Ahead of our FA Cup Prekiminary Round tie this weekend, we are proud to host a true piece of footballing history this weekend – The Emirates FA Cup is coming to Gigg Lane! Join us tomorrow from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Fanzone for an unmissable opportunity to get up close with the most iconic trophy in football. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a first-time visitor, it’s your chance to capture a special moment with the silverware that’s inspired generations. How to Get Your Photo with the FA Cup: There are two ways supporters can get their photo taken with the trophy: Visit the Fanzone from 12:30pm and collect your photo ticket. – Suggested donation of £5 (cash or card accepted). Spend £5 or more in the Club Shop on Bury FC merchandise, then head to the Fanzone with your receipt to access the trophy. We will take your email address so we can send your photo directly to your inbox! Hospitality Guests: If you’re joining us in the lounges, hospitality guests will have their own opportunity to get a photo with the FA Cup from 2:30pm. The competitive season is finally here! We welcome South Liverpool to Gigg Lane for our Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie. We had an outstanding run in the competition last season, reaching the Fourth Qualifying Round – before losing narrowly to Harborough Town. Our pre-season has been solid, rounding it off with a 3-1 victory against Wigan on Tuesday night. All about taking that momentum into the competitive action. In Opposition – South Liverpool South have won one and lost one of their opening two competitive games in the NWCFL Premier Division, an opening day defeat at home to Stockport Town 3-0, followed by a 3-1 victory at Atherton LR on Tuesday night. We picked up victories in both games against them last season, 2-0 at Gigg Lane and 1-0 at Jericho Lane. The club came into existence just 90 years ago this year and was relaunched in 1991. Tickets are still on sale via our ticketing page on our website. Pay on the gate will also be available. Starkies will be open at the normal time of 12.30pm for supporters to access from the Manchester Road End entrance before kick-off. Starkies will remain open throughout the game (for those in the main stand only) as well as after the game. We are delighted to confirm the signing of winger Ryan Atkinson, who will join Northwich Victoria immediately on loan. A product of Chester’s academy, he was awarded the Peter Mitchell Trophy, the Academy’s prestigious Players’ Player of the Year, a testament to both his talent and character on and off the pitch. Ryan has featured for us off the bench in pre-season games against Chester & Ashton Athletic. Manager, Dave McNabb said: “Ryan came into preseason and really impressed in every season and game. His ability is clearly evident, but he’s also very switched on for such a young lad. “Consistent game time is key to Ryan’s development, so an agreement for him to go straight out on loan to Vics works perfectly for all parties.” The club will monitor Ryan’s development throughout the season, and we thank Northwich for aiding his development in adult football. Bury Football Club is proud to announce the beginning of a comprehensive Strategic Plan Review, designed to shape the future direction of the club across four key pillars: Football, Community, Commercial, and Stadium. As we move forward, it’s vital that the voices of our supporters, volunteers, partners, and the wider Bury community are heard. To ensure this, we are starting with a series of small, focused group discussions. These focus groups will provide an open and constructive environment for participants to share ideas and contribute to the long-term vision of the club. This first stage marks an important step in building a stronger, more sustainable Bury FC — one that honours our heritage while embracing innovation and opportunity for the future. Our Four Strategic Pillars: Football: Developing a clear pathway for players, coaches, and teams across all levels. Community: Strengthening our connection with local people, groups, and initiatives. Commercial: Building sustainable revenue streams and strong partnerships. Stadium: Enhancing our home, Gigg Lane, to better serve fans and the community. We will be inviting a diverse range of stakeholders to take part in these focus groups to ensure we have a variety of views from across our fanbase, with initial communications to be released in the coming weeks.
