Manager Dave McNabb hosted a vote amongst the players and staff, to choose the new captain with Tom selected to lead the team in this new era. We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Harry Wright. The 24-year-old, came through the ranks at Ipswich Town before moving to Fleetwood Town, where he left in 2022. He’s also played for Cheadle Town earlier this month, making two appearances, one in a league fixture against AFC Liverpool and the other in the Macron Cup vs Sandbach United. We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Joe Duckworth. The 22-year-old joins the Shakers from Witton Albion in the Northern Premier League. He’s made 52 appearances for the club across their last two seasons, scoring 23 goals. Joe’s breakout season was at Winsford United in the 2018/19 season, which brought a total of 28 goals in 47 games across two seasons at the Barton Stadium. Dave McNabb’s side come into Saturday’s game away at Chadderton with a full week of training behind them after last weekend’s emphatic win away at Barnoldswick Town.   A squad made up of mainly Under 23s featured in Tuesday night’s Manchester Cup tie away at Glossop North End, which ended 2-0 to the oppositions.   Shakeel Jones-Griffiths & Lewis Gilboy also featured in the squad for the midweek trip, giving them both an opportunity to step up into a senior role.
