It’s back to the Salford Van Hire Gigg Lane Stadium for the first time this season, with The Shakers welcoming Curzon Ashton on Tuesday evening. After a goalless draw at Redcar Athletic on Saturday, Anthony Johnson’s men will be hoping to claim their first win of the season in front of a home crowd. Our opposition started their season in winning ways last time out, beating Alfreton Town 1-0 at home on Saturday Afternoon In Opposition – Curzon Ashton Nicknamed “The Nash”, Curzon Ashton were founded in 1963 following a merger between Curzon Road Methodists FC and Ashton Amateurs FC. With a capacity of 4,000, their home ground (Tameside Stadium) was opened in 2005 by Sir Alex Ferguson, with a friendly also played against a Manchester United XI. The stadium has a nod to world cup triumphs, with statues of tournament champions Geoff Hurst, Jimmy Armfield and Simone Perrotta, all of whom having a link to the area. Curzon have a recent history of FA Cup success, reaching the FA second round proper, a 4-3 thriller that ended in defeat to AFC Wimbledon. Tickets & Admission Match admission prices are outlined below: Adults: £15 16-18 year olds: £5 Under 16s: £3 Under 5s: Free Disability / Carer options provided Supporters can secure their ticket online ahead of the game via our NEW ticketing partner for 2026/27, Fanbase. Buying online is the quickest and easiest way to purchase your match tickets and you can do so HERE, subject to booking fee. You can save your e-ticket directly to your phone (via email / on the app – Android / iOS) to scan upon entry to the turnstiles. Cash / card sales are also accepted on the turnstile in both the Main and South Stand. Season ticket holders have an allocated seat to their ticket (with the exception of Block A & Block B in the South Stand) and the seat in the stand is marked as ‘Reserved’. All single match tickets have the option to choose a specific seat within the stadium. Travel to Gigg & Stand Access Travel: Gigg Lane is accessible by car and is well served by public transport, please see our page on the TfGM website, which advises the best travel routes to the stadium. SatNav Postcode: BL9 9HR WhatThreeWords: ///issues.skins.span Parking: The on-site car park at Gigg Lane will be open from 12:30pm on matchdays (6pm for midweek fixtures), with remaining spaces charged at £5 per car and available on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be CASH ONLY on the day, and we would ask that were possible you have correct money. No movement is allowed on the car park until 15 minutes after the final whistle to allow the safe exit of supporters. For all other supporters accessing Gigg Lane by car on matchdays, parking will be available in the residential areas surrounding the ground. Supporters are requested to be considerate of local residents when doing so and to be aware of areas where parking permits are in implemented. Stands: Both Main Stand & South Stand will be open. These two stands will be predominately used for each game as the season progresses. Any changes for specific games will be communicated ahead of that game. Reserved Seating: Supporters are reminded that Blocks E & F in the main stand are reserved for guests in our hospitality suites and the Directors area for club Officials. All seats in these areas are clearly marked with a reserved sticker. We ask fans to not sit in a reserved seat unless it is allocated to them on their season ticket. Visiting supporters: Away supporters will be directed towards Blocks H and I of the Main Stand and under normal circumstances will enter the stand via Turnstile 7 (as picture right). Stadium Entry: Gates will open at 1:30pm on Saturdays & 6:30pm during midweek. In the Ground Our matchday volunteers will be on hand, both outside the turnstiles and inside the ground, to guide supporters to where they need to be. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask those who are there to help the day. Matchday Programme: You can purchase a programme online when purchasing your ticket (available from our game on Saturday 15th August vs Warrington Rylands), to collect at the merchandise stall ahead of the game or head to the sellers in and around the ground when arriving at Gigg Lane. The programme price is £3.50. Pound for the Ground: Our ‘Pound for the Ground’ raffle tickets will be on sale in and around the ground before kick-off, £1 per entry. Sellers accept cash or card, with 40% of the total pot going to the winning ticket with results announced over the PA system and on the scoreboard at half-time. Food / Drink: Within the ground, our kiosks are managed by our catering partner – The Difference Group. Hot / cold snacks will be available, as well as some tempting meal deals including our range of beverages (both alcoholic / non-alcoholic versions available). Supporters will also be able to enjoy freshly cooked chips inside the ground, with our hot food stall located in the South Stand, to the right as you enter the ground along the white and blue wall. View from Starkies Starkies: Starkies will be open from 12.30pm Saturdays and 6pm Midweeks for supporters to access from the Manchester Road End entrance before kick-off. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis up to capacity, which will be managed on the door. Designated Smoking Areas: Supporters are not allowed to smoke / vape anywhere within the stands at Gigg Lane. Designated areas are set aside to do this, follow guidance from stewards on this and only smoke / vape within these areas. #NonLeagueDogs: For now, dogs are NOT permitted in the ground. Louis White remains in hospital but is doing well and is in good spirits. Initial test results have ruled out a heart attack, although doctors have identified an issue relating to the heart muscle. He will undergo further tests over the coming days to establish exactly what the issue is and the next steps in his recovery. Naturally, football takes a back seat and Louis is expected to be unavailable for selection for a period of time while he recovers. We know many supporters have been asking after him and we’re sure everyone associated with Bury FC will join us in wishing Louis well. We’ll provide further updates when appropriate. Bury Football Club is delighted to announce Infinity 21 as the club’s new streaming provider for the 2026/27 season. The new platform will allow supporters around the world to watch the Shakers live throughout the campaign, with a reliable, easy-to-use service designed specifically for live sport. Supporters will be able to purchase individual match passes for £9.99, while all matches will also be available to watch on demand for 30 days after the final whistle for £4.99. In addition, season ticket holders will be able to watch eligible matches streamed within the UK for the reduced price of just £4.99. Further details on which fixtures can be streamed domestically will be confirmed throughout the season, subject to broadcasting regulations. Infinity 21 also gives supporters the flexibility to catch up if they miss kick-off, with every streamed fixture available to watch back for 30 days. The platform is already used by clubs and competitions across British sport, including football, rugby, speedway and ice hockey, and brings more than 15 years of experience in delivering live sporting events. As with previous seasons, Saturday 3pm league fixtures will only be available to stream live outside the UK, in line with UEFA’s broadcasting regulations, with some exemptions possible, where regulation allows. The Shakers open their Northern Premier League campaign with a trip to the seaside, making the 234 mile round trip to Redcar Athletic. After a title winning campaign, Anthony Johnson’s side come off a preseason which saw wins over Bacup Borough, Chorley, FC Isle of Man, Radcliffe and Wigan Athletic, and defeats to Accrington Stanley and Morecambe. This fixture marks the two sides first ever competitive league meeting. In Opposition – Redcar Athletic Nicknamed “The Steelmen”, Redcar Athletic mark a similar trajectory to Bury the past few seasons, with back to back promotions seeing them reach the Northern Premier League for the first time in their history. Established in 1993 as Teesside Athletic, the club stepped into the Wearside League in 2005, moving to Green Lane the same year. The club was renamed to Redcar Athletic in 2010, and have earned three promotions since 2021. The 25-year old winger arrives at Salford Van Hire Gigg Lane Stadium with a wealth of non-league experience over the last eight years. His career started in the AC Milan Academy at the age of 7 before relocating to England with his family at 15 years old. Spells at Stockport Town and Mossley followed, with Uchegbulam signing his first professional contract when he joined Chesterfield in July 2022. He was part of the Oldham side that achieved promotion back to the EFL in 2025, picking up the assist for James Norwood’s equaliser in extra-time. Most recently, he featured for Chelmsford City – scoring and assisting on his debut in the FA Cup – and spent a short time at Welsh Champions The New Saints before mutually agreeing to leave ahead of joining the Shakers. We are delighted to confirm the signing of John Clarke ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 22-year-old left-back joins the Shakers following his departure from Reading, where he spent four years after signing in 2022. Clarke made his senior debut for the Royals before overcoming a serious knee ligament injury and gaining further experience on loan at National League South side Slough Town last season. Clarke made an immediate impression, scoring twice in last Tuesday night’s pre-season victory over Wigan Athletic U21s, and says Bury’s ambition and style of play made the move an easy decision. Manager Anthony Johnson believes Clarke has all the attributes to become an important player for the club.
