Rawsy Departs for Stalybridge
We can confirm that Lewis Rawsthorn has joined Stalybridge Celtic for an undisclosed fee. Lewis joined the Shakers from Radcliffe in December and went on to make 13 appearances, scoring five goals – including goals in each of his opening two appearances for the club. From the moment he arrived at Gigg Lane, Lewis showed an excellent work rate and his attitude and application throughout his time with the club have been first class, and his impact on the pitch was clear to see. As a local lad who understood what it means to represent the club, Lewis embraced his time with the Shakers and played an important role during his spell here. Corporate Cup – 26 June 2026
Bury Football Club’s inaugural Corporate Cup at Gigg Lane delivered exactly what it set out to do: competitive football and a valuable networking environment for businesses across the region. Hosted at the historic Gigg Lane ground, the event brought together workplace teams in a lively, well-contested tournament. The first edition ended with Water Engineering Services Ltd emerging as deserved winners, lifting the trophy after a series of hard-fought matches and closely contested final vs Jewsons. The standard on the pitch was matched by the atmosphere off it, with teams and partners making the most of the opportunity to connect away from the workplace in a professional football stadium. Sponsored by club partner ET Clay, the day set a strong benchmark for the rest of the Corporate Cup series. Corporate Cup – Event 2 at Gigg LaneThe second instalment of the Corporate Cup series is now open for entries, and anticipation is building following the success of the opener. Construction businesses are invited back to Gigg Lane on Friday 26th June for another afternoon of competitive 7-a-side action, team bonding and industry networking in a unique stadium setting. With momentum building after a standout first event, places are filling quickly once again. Entry remains £500 + VAT per team. To secure your place in Event 2 of the Construction Cup series, enter here. Alternatively to request further information, please contact: corporatecup@buryfc.co.uk View the full article

World Autism Month
At Bury FC, inclusion is not a standalone initiative it’s part of the fabric of the club and how we want Gigg Lane to feel for everyone who comes through the gates. However, during Autism Awareness Month, we were reminded of how powerful that can be in practice. Matchdays are not just about football; they are about belonging. Speaking with parents of autistic children who attend games highlighted the importance of simple things done well — a welcoming atmosphere, understanding from staff and volunteers and a sense that families can enjoy the day without barriers or anxiety. That same commitment runs through our ‘Comets ’pan-disability football sessions for 4–11 year olds, where young players are given the opportunity to develop, enjoy the game and be part of a team environment that celebrates ability in all its forms. These sessions are not just about football skills – they are about confidence, friendship and feeling included in the life of the club. We are thrilled to be establishing a ‘Comets +’ season for children aged 12-16, with more news coming soon. Inclusion at Bury FC also extends beyond the pitch. Our Matchday Secretary’s involvement in the Inclusion World Cup darts in Scotland reflects how individuals across the club are encouraged and supported to take part in wider inclusive sport and community initiatives. Alongside this, our FFD (Fans For Diversity) group continues to play an important role in shaping the future of Gigg Lane. Their agreed focus on inclusion and accessibility will help us look closely at how supporters experience the stadium, identifying practical improvements that make matchdays easier, more comfortable and more welcoming for all. What makes the club special is not one programme or one project, but the shared belief that football should be for everyone. From the youngest players in our disability sessions to families attending their first match, to supporters helping shape accessibility improvements, there is a growing sense that Bury FC is a place where people are not just spectators – they are part of something special. The Bury FC family! “Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at Bury FC. Whether on the pitch, in the stands, or behind the scenes, we are committed to making Gigg Lane a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and able to belong.” Casey Lynchey, Head of Operations and Community. Club Statement: Dave McNabb
Bury Football Club can confirm that Dave McNabb has departed his role as Head of Football, bringing to a close a significant chapter in his long-standing association with the Club. A familiar and respected figure among staff, players, and supporters alike, Dave first took charge of first team affairs during a challenging and transitional period back in September 2023, with the Club in 10th place in the North West Counties Premier Division. Stepping into the role of manager with professionalism and determination, he helped stabilise the football side of the Club and laid important groundwork during a time when unity and resilience were essential, leading the team to the Playoff Final. In his first full season in charge, Dave built on that groundwork, starting with an FA Cup run that saw us pick up memorable victories away at Garforth Town, Blyth Spartans, and Radcliffe. The early season form continued after the Christmas period, with the team winning 15 straight matches to clinch the North West Counties Premier Division title with 109 points in front of over 8,000 Shakers at Gigg Lane. Following the start of life in the Northern Premier League West, Dave transitioned into a new role away from the management of the football club but continued to play a key role behind the scenes as Head of Football. In this position, he was instrumental in shaping the Club’s structure, supporting player development pathways, contributing to the broader vision for long-term success, and playing a pivotal role in the appointment of Anthony Johnson as First Team Manager. His experience, leadership, and deep understanding of the game have left a lasting impact on the Club’s progression. Everyone at Bury Football Club would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Dave for his dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout his time with us. His contribution both on and off the pitch will not be forgotten. We wish Dave and his family all the very best for the future. View the full article

New Signing: George Glendon
We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder George Glendon ahead of the upcoming season. The experienced central midfielder arrives at Gigg Lane with an outstanding footballing pedigree, having developed through the academy system at Manchester City, where he captained the club’s Elite Development Squad and represented England national under-17 football team at youth level. A composed midfielder, Glendon built his senior experience in the EFL with Fleetwood Town and Carlisle United, making more than 70 appearances across League One and League Two football. Following his move into non-league football, Glendon became one of the standout midfielders in the National League North during his time with Chester FC. Across six seasons with the Blues, he made over 150 appearances, scored more than 20 goals and established himself as club captain, earning widespread praise for his leadership, consistency and quality on the ball. Most recently, Glendon featured for Radcliffe, making 26 appearances during the 2024/25 season, with his experience and composure in midfield underlining the qualities he will bring to Bury FC. Dudley is a Shaker…again
We are delighted to announce the signing of Anthony Dudley, our first signing of the summer. He returns to Gigg Lane having first come through the youth ranks at Bury FC, making his Football League debut for the club in January 2014 against Burton Albion. Now returning to the Shakers with over a decade of senior experience behind him, Dudley brings proven quality, versatility and attacking threat to the squad. During his first spell with Bury, Dudley gained valuable experience through loan spells with Guiseley AFC and Macclesfield Town, impressing with his pace and eye for goal in the National League. A move to Salford City followed in 2017, where he first linked up with manager Anthony Johnson, and helped the club secure the National League North title during the 2017/18 campaign. Dudley later enjoyed a successful spell with Chester FC, initially on loan before making the move permanent, going on to make more than 140 league appearances and scoring over 30 goals for the Seals. Most recently, Dudley has featured for Radcliffe, making 30 appearances in the 2024/25 season, continuing to demonstrate the experience and attacking quality that have made him a well-known figure across the non-league pyramid. Anthony will link up with his new teammates when pre-season begins later this summer. Welcome back to Gigg, Duds! View the full article
