    1. Gigg Lane Commemoration Service

Ahead of the works to lay the 3G pitch this summer, a commemoration service will be held in honour of fans of the past, who’s ashes are present at Gigg Lane.
All are welcome to pay their respects, with the service taking place from 3pm, lead by the Rector of Bury Parish Church.

The choir will be directed by Dan McDwyer, drawing singers from the Greater Manchester area for this special event.

The ground will be open from 2pm and to assist with numbers on the day, please sign-up for a free ticket by clicking below.

    2. Gigg Lane Double-Header kick starts return home

We are pleased to announce that for the restart of men’s football down at Gigg Lane, we will be welcoming two huge local sides on a Saturday-Sunday double-header in early July.
To kick us off Mark Hughes brings his League Two outfit Bradford City to town on Saturday 8th July, 3pm.
Following this up, and he needs no introduction to the Bury faithful, Ryan Lowe brings his Championship-side Preston North End to Gigg Lane on Sunday 9th July, also a 3pm kick-off.
Both sides have committed to bringing down full squads for the fixture at the home of football in Bury. To purchase a home-end ticket for either of these games, click on the badges above.

      Visiting Fan Tickets
The allocation of tickets for visiting supporters will be communicated by each club, with areas of the ground will be segregated so supporters can be appropriately managed.
        Bradford City
It’s been over five years since Bury and Bradford City last did battle, in 2017/18, a season which saw Bury relegated from League One. Despite it being a generally shocking campaign for the Shakers, we managed to get four points off our visitors, winning 3-1 at Gigg Lane (even Chris Maguire scored!) and a last gasp George Miller equaliser made it 2-2 at Valley Parade.
Both sides have had their ups and downs, we’ve played each other in every Division bar the Premier League in the last 30-35 years, as well as the Football League Trophy, the League Cup and an FA Cup Third Round tie in 2015/16. After a pair of 0-0 draws, Bury won the replay on penalties to reach the Fourth Round.
Matches between the two teams have always been exciting and dramatic, and given the relatively short distance between us, there is very often a large away following particularly when the Bantams travel over the Pennines to Gigg Lane. We look forward to welcoming all Bantams to Gigg Lane, once again.
        Preston North End
Another team that need little introduction to Shakers fans, with paths crossing a little further back in 2012 but with some classics along the way.
The big plus sees Ryan Lowe, manager at Gigg Lane in 2019 and a big part of the last memories of that unforgettable promotion still very fresh in the minds of all supporters, returning to be part of the formal re-opening of the stadium he once called home.
We wish to place on record our thanks to the managers and administrators of both teams to enable these fixtures to take place. To be playing each once again is something to savour.
We want to welcome our friends from Bradford and Preston, and thank them for helping us restart our journey and our history as Bury Football Club!

    5. Have you got yours?

Now that the North West Counties Football League (NWCFL) have confirmed that there will be a whopping 24 teams in the Premier Division next season we can confirm both single and season ticket prices, along with further information about disability tickets and potential availability of stands.
Season tickets are now available to purchase.   CLICK HERE TO BUY   Single Match Tickets   Adult £10 16-18 Year Olds £5
      Under 16s £3
      Under 5s Free
We have set the cost of a single adult ticket at £10. This is higher than many clubs in non-league Step 5 but we are not the first club in the NWCFL to charge this. Macclesfield and Isle of Man have previously charged £10 to cover the costs of their larger stadiums where additional stewarding is required.
We will need to employ more stewards to comply with the requirements of our safety certificate and to provide catering staff to supply food and beverages around the ground. Volunteer support is very much welcomed but will not be enough on its own. We appreciate price inflation is affecting everyone at the moment, including the club, but believe the prices to be fair in the circumstances.   We have introduced a new lower ticket price for 16-18 year olds, which is only available on the turnstile on production of some relevant valid photo ID e.g., driver’s licence, a student card with an expiry date.   Season Tickets   For all 23 home league games, includes VAT, excludes booking fee: Adult £196
      Under 16s £50
      Under 5s Free
The NWCFL rules only allow us to offer a maximum of a 15% discount on season tickets so the season ticket price is set at a point designed purely to comply with this rule. We are unable to reduce it further.   We are now starting work on parts of the stadium which can provide additional hospitality beyond the usual purchases of food and drinks from kiosks, but this will take time to complete. As a result we are focusing on sales of standard season tickets for now.   We are grateful for the generosity of over 50 individuals who have agreed to pay the ‘old’ rate of £720 for an 1885 suite hospitality season ticket inclusive of VAT. We know this is a high price to pay and it was agreed before the number of league fixtures was known. It allows us to pay for much of the stewarding required to open the main stand for the season. We have a number of 1885 suite season tickets which can still be purchased. Season Ticket Cards Only Guaranteed if Bought by 1st July   All purchasers of single match or season tickets will be sent a receipt with a QR code by email and by text (as long as you provide your mobile number) after purchase. Please check your junk mail for your receipt as it can often go there.
You must save this QR code as it is required for entry to the game and will be scanned at the turnstile. If you receive it by text and use an iPhone you can save it to your Apple Wallet.   Single Match tickets are digital only, we will not provide a paper ticket. However you may print your QR code at home if you do not have a smart phone to present it on.   All season ticket orders received by 1st July will be printed onto a season ticket card which you can present at the turnstile instead of the digital ticket if you wish. Season tickets bought after the 1st July will be digital only.   Disability Tickets
We have used the best practice guidance set out by Level Playing Field for ticketing and seating management for disabled supporters, and had input from a small number of our own disabled fans and other clubs. This follows the concept of making a more considered ‘reasonable adjustment’ rather than just a concession on price.
In accordance with this guidance, anyone with a disability requiring the assistance of a carer will be asked to purchase a ticket at full price and then offered a free carer ticket for someone to escort them to the game. Purchasers of free carer tickets will be contacted by email to provide evidence of disability which can be one of the following documents:   Receipt of the mid-rate care element or the high-rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or Personal Independence Payments (PIP). Receipt of either the Severe Disablement Allowance or Attendance Allowance. War Pensioners’ Mobility Allowance or War or Service Disablement Pension for 80% or more disability. Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CVI Certificate). Further advice can be found on the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) website. Confirmation in writing from Social Services that the individual is included on their Deaf Register, or a letter or report from an aural specialist confirming that hearing loss has been recorded at 70 – 95 dBHL or worse. Confirmation in writing from Social Services that the individual has a learning difficulty or disability. For children – a letter from the head teacher at a their school confirming eligibility will be acceptable.   We reserve the right to cancel carer tickets where evidence is requested and not produced.
We will make 25 season tickets available for wheelchair users along with a carer. These will be in the South Stand. If we open up additional stands which have wheelchair spaces these will be available as single match tickets.   Seating and Stands
It is unlikely that all stands will be open due to the stringent safety requirements and consequent costs of opening stands where crowds do not require it.   As a result we are not offering reserved seating for this first season back at Gigg Lane. We know this will disappoint some but it is unlikely to prevent many people from sitting in their old seat with so much seating available.   We will prioritize the South and North (Main) stands for opening on a matchday which will offer spectators the best views and facilities. We will not make dramatic changes to the layout and functioning of Gigg Lane as a stadium in the short space of time we have until the start of the season so you should consider its development as a work in progress. It is important that we prioritize safety at this point and we will be constantly looking for feedback from supporters as to how we can improve their matchday experience throughout the season and beyond.

    6. Help needed down at Gigg on Saturday

Can you be at Gigg Lane early on Saturday morning to help remove water from the covers laid on the pitch? Be #PartofIt to get the game ON!

To help protect the pitch from the predicted snow fall yesterday and any freezing conditions that followed, covers were placed across the pitch on Wednesday.

With the forecast anticipating a halt in the rain overnight on Friday / Saturday, the covers are due to be removed first thing on Saturday morning.

The pitch remains soft underneath from the rain earlier in the week. The water sat on top will be pushed to the sides of the ground before the covers are rolled up and removed.

We have a good number of regular volunteers who will be down to assist the ground staff, but with many hands making light work, getting another 20 volunteers down to assist will enable pitch preparations to start sooner.
Supporters armed with a big brush (suitable for pushing water along) are requested to arrive from 8am and report to ground staff for guidance. This process should be completed by around 10am with your assistance.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our ground staff team, as well as both Unsworth CC and Bury CC for lending equipment to assist with the clean up.

To contact the club, please do so on the new number – 0161 537 9253.
        Tickets: Burscough (H)
Following the pitch clearence, Burscough head into town for the next game in the NWCFL Premier Division. Get your match information HERE, with tickets, as always, are available below:

    7. Hope + Glory to be kit supplier for the New Season

As indicated within the ratification vote on Friday (view results here), the two societies Shakers Community and Bury FC Supporters Society will now amalgamate to form a joint society which will mean that competitive men’s football will again feature at Gigg Lane from this summer.
As outlined in the Interim Board’s first address following the ratification vote, the first stage to move the club towards a new season at Gigg Lane, is what kit will the ‘White & Blue Army’ (both men’s and women’s sides) will run out in from July onwards.
We are now pleased to announce that Oldham-based Hope + Glory Sportswear will continue to provide the kit and training wear in 2023-24. A popular local business and a brand particularly familiar to non-league football supporters, we have outlined the benefits that Hope + Glory bring to the club below.
A bespoke kit is a chance to make a statement
There are plenty of famous sportswear brands making football kits but they are based on generic templates so other than copies, one kit looks pretty much the same as another. As we have seen with the kits provided for the club over the past three seasons, a bespoke kit sets us out from others. A new season at Gigg Lane is another momentous occasion which we feel is right to celebrate with another classic set of kits for supporters to wear with pride.
It also allows us to provide members with the opportunity to vote for the kit design they like the most, and we expect to have the options in front of you soon.
It rewards fans as well as the club
The revenue the club receives from Hope + Glory is similar to that offered by the big brands. We could make more money by using alternative suppliers, but we found that the quality of kit and design suffers as a consequence. We think you’ll be delighted with the quality of the new kit, which will include a stitched badge.
In addition our contract allows for a new home and away kit once every two years. This rewards fans who purchase shirts as they know they will last for at least two seasons. After this year, we can move into a cycle of alternating new home and away kits once every two years. So there will be a new home or away kit to vote on each season but never both at the same time.
      Convenience and choice
We know there are Bury fans throughout the country and plenty overseas. As part of our deal with Hope + Glory they will host and manage an online shop with shipping offered nationally and internationally to cater for those people who aren’t always able to get to the ground. As we are able to produce the kits to order rather than just hold stock, we can offer a huge range of sizes to cater for men, women and children. As a volunteer run club this allows us to offer a service we couldn’t provide on our own.
      Environmentally friendly EcoKit
As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, each kit is made using RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) with a significantly lower environmental impact than virgin polyester. Every shirt is manufactured using a piece of fabric made from approximately 16 recycled plastic bottles. You won’t notice the difference, they still have a premium, smooth feel to them and are lighter than polyester.
Further details about the new designs for The Shakers’ kit, and how to vote for the one you love, will be released soon so make sure you are #PartOfIt.

    8. How You Can Help Us This Weekend

Bury Football Club is run by volunteers and owned by its supporters. Even if you aren’t one of the many volunteers who are assisting with our matchday operations this weekend, you can play a part in its success.
Here are just a few things that you can do which make more of a difference than you might realise.
        1. Don’t turn up if you don’t have a ticket. Both games are ticket only. Bradford is already sold out. Nobody will be admitted without a ticket and we are under some extremely strict rules to enforce this for these fixtures.
        2. Park considerately. The car park in front of the stadium is not available this weekend for supporter use, other than for people with blue disability badges. Volunteers will be helping manage the car park. Off street parking is available but be mindful or the streets closest to Gigg Lane which have parking restrictions on a matchday, and be considerate to residents when you park in residential areas.
        3. Go to the right turnstile. Home supporters will be in the South Stand and away supporters in the East Stand (as below). Please look out for signs and volunteers who are there to help to ensure you go to the right place and help anyone struggling.

        4. Have your ticket ready showing the QR code. You can present your QR code on your mobile phone or print it off at home, both will work as long as it is clear. You can only use it once on the day so if you share it with someone else who goes in first it won’t allow you in.
        5. Behave responsibly. Despite being a friendly, this is a high profile game with a significant security presence. Help us succeed by following the rules around alcohol consumption, be patient with volunteers and stewards and don’t engage in anti-social behaviour described below.
        6. Don’t litter. Every piece of litter needs to be cleaned up afterwards. If you leave litter behind that means extra work for a volunteer. Please use the bins provided or even better take your litter home with you so others don’t have to.
        7. Help if you can. You will see people staying behind after each game to work on the stadium. Join in if you can. Even five minutes spent cleaning the area around where you sit makes a difference.
There are still tickets for Sunday’s game against Preston North End, get yours HERE!
        Spectator Management
Whilst these games are both friendlies, more stringent rules for spectator management will apply as our opponents are EFL teams.
This means that alcohol cannot be served or consumed in view of the pitch and the police will be in attendance. We will have enhanced stewarding on the day which will hopefully support us in delivering a safe environment.
We hope to be able to relax these requirements for the three remaining home friendlies against non-league opposition, and open up more of the ground for the start of the season proper.
However we need your support and co-operation to do this. We are required to demonstrate that we are able to safely and competently run matches out of Gigg Lane to open up more of the ground increase our capacity. Please help us achieve this over the next few weeks.
Anti-Social Behaviour is A Criminal Offence
Supporters should be aware that anti-social behaviour affecting the game itself will be a criminal offence. This includes:
Entering the field of play Possession of Pyrotechnics (Flares / Fireworks) in the ground The throwing of projectiles Racist, Homophobic or any other indecent chanting     #ShakersTogether | #BuryFC | #PartofIt
