Following a review of the pitch at Park Road ahead of tomorrow’s planned fixture against Cheadle Town, the surface has been declared unfit and the game has been postponed. The weather has beaten the efforts of the Park Road ground staff, with frozen pitch affecting attempts to prepare the surface for this weekend. After the weather put paid to a mid-week top-of-the-table clash against Wythenshawe, attention turned to Park Road this weekend as we take on Cheadle Town this Saturday. Following an early pitch inspection, tonight’s fixture at home to Wythenshawe has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. Temperatures dropped over the weekend and with little change due over today, plus the snow covering in Bury overnight an early review of the pitch was arranged this morning with the match referee. We can confirm that the FA have agreed to a stay of the sanction requiring us to close Gigg Lane to supporters whilst the appeal is heard. There will be no sanctions until the appeal process concludes. This means that our game against Wythenshawe will be open for supporters of both sides to attend.
