In our last outing Dave McNabbs men put Skelmersdale United to the sword in an emphatic 10 – 1 victory. A result that is a new league record for The Shakers surpassing the 8 – 0 set against Huddersfield Town way back in January 1970. Goals for; Andy Briggs, Connor Comber, Andy Scarisbrick, Dec Daniels, Arthur Lomax-Jones, Benito Lowe, Sam Burns and a debut hattrick for local lad Jacob Holland-Wilkinson left the Gigg Lane faithful in no doubt that the team has their eyes fully set on the tas

There was a short delay in the game restarting towards the end of the 90 minutes on Saturday due to three people attempting to enter the playing area. They were stopped from getting onto the pitch by stewards. Two of them did not co-operate and took some time to be restrained and removed. We have a number of eye witness statements, as well as video evidence, and are conducting our own investigation. We will act to protect the club and everyone working at the club from this behaviour. January comes to a close (we can’t believe it either), and we hope beyond hope that we can get a game on in what has felt like too long! The Shakers last took to the field almost two weeks ago when we dispatched Litherland REMYCA (highlights below) and in doing so, keeping up with those at the top of the league in the process. Due to the weather playing havoc with fixtures across the league, there has not been much change since with Wythenshawe Town remaining top by a point, with Wythenshaw

Once again, the weather has beaten us and this has resulted in a postponement of tonight’s fixture against Ramsbottom United at Gigg Lane. After last week’s freezing temperatures and increased levels in rainfall, with first Storm Isha over the weekend and the incoming Storm Jocelyn from today, has left large volumes of water sat on top of the Gigg Lane turf, after being in good condition only this morning following a dry spell on Monday. An early afternoon inspection was called when th

As we all sat at home twiddling our thumbs this weekend after another cancellation, we watched the thaw slowly take hold and pitches across the north-west started to breathe again. Hopefully that is the end of the freezing conditions as we rocket towards the end of January and look to resume battle in the league. We will be keeping a watchful eye however, over the incoming weather in the hours leading up to the game. Head to social media ( X / Facebook ) or right here at buryfc.co.uk for a

Bury FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Arthur Lomax-Jones from Bootle for an undisclosed fee. The 19-year-old started at Tranmere’s youth setup before moving to Wigan in 2009 where he played through the ranks until Under 18s, where he then made the move back to Prenton Park. Lomax joined Bootle from Tranmere last summer and has made 38 appearances for the Bucks, a number at the start of the season under Dave McNabb. He was recalled from his loan at NPL West side, Wi

Following a review of the pitch at Park Road ahead of tomorrow’s planned fixture against Cheadle Town, the surface has been declared unfit and the game has been postponed. The weather has beaten the efforts of the Park Road ground staff, with frozen pitch affecting attempts to prepare the surface for this weekend. A new date will be confirmed in due course, and purchased tickets will be refunded via Cheadle Town shortly. Next Up: Ramsbottom United With us all thirs

After the weather put paid to a mid-week top-of-the-table clash against Wythenshawe, attention turned to Park Road this weekend as we take on Cheadle Town this Saturday. And a repeat of last Saturday’s performance, will do nicely if Dave McNabb’s charges can put another show for the travelling faithful. Two goals each from Andy Briggs and newly-crowned league player of the month, Dec Daniels, alongside a return to the goalscoring charts for Andy Scarisbrick and another goal for youngster Jo
