    1. Tickets Now Available For Opening League Fixture

We are now able to confirm ticketing for this Saturday’s fixture against Glossop North End.

We are able to operate at full capacity in the South Stand & East Stand (Cemetery End). These two stands alone give us a capacity of well over 5,000.

The Manchester Road End will remain closed. We are awaiting confirmation on what capacity the North (Main) Stand can operate at, but we know it will not be full capacity, so we have elected to put tickets for the South Stand on sale now rather than delay sales further. We know this will be a well attended game and many supporters will want to guarantee their place by purchasing a ticket in advance.
We are at capacity in the 1885 Suite after strong season ticket sales for that space so are unable to offer further hospitality tickets for this game.
For now, we will make the South Stand ticket only, and leave the Cemetery End as the pay-on-the-turnstile option. This makes it far easier to manage numbers for our volunteer turnstile operators. Season ticket holders may choose any available stand. Should the South Stand look like it will sell out then we will release tickets for the Cemetery End also, by which time we should have more information on the Main Stand numbers.

We know this is a little more complicated than is ideal, but this game in particular will be especially well attended so we want to offer an advance ticket option rather than leave anything to chance. We do anticipate future games will be easier to manage as we will understand better where season ticket holders prefer to sit and will have plenty of room to accommodate everyone.
We strongly recommend purchasing a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment and queues. It also helps us plan our resources better.
We’d like to thank Bury Council amongst others for their help and support in opening up the stadium to greater numbers to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the occasion.
Tickets are now on sale, click here to purchase yours ahead of a historic occasion on Saturday.
        Be #ShakersTogether, Be #PartOfIt, Be #BuryFC for 2023/24.

    2. Tony Bartley: 1938-2024

      Tony Bartley, 8th March 1938 – 22nd September 2024
Tony Bartley’s football career may have begun with Bury’s traditional local rivals, Bolton Wanderers, but it was Gigg Lane and the Shakers’ supporters with whom he shared a mutual love for the rest of his life.

Lance Corporal Bartley played for the Wanderers during his national service in 1956/57 but arrived at Gigg in 1958 via a spell at his hometown club, Stalybridge Celtic.

It was the beginning of a seven-year association during which time he was part of one of the most affectionately-remembered squads of the club’s history: the 1960/61 Third Division champions who blasted 108 goals on their way to the second tier.

Flying down the left wing, fans of his vintage remember a tenacious, hard-working winger who also weighed in with his fair share of goals, particularly against Stoke City against whom Tony once scored a winner in a match when he shared the pitch with Stanley Matthews. He also found the net in games versus Newcastle, Sunderland, Chelsea and Leeds.

With never a hair out of place, he is also remembered for his interactions with his fans, sitting on the perimeter walls of the Boys’ Stand, the South Stand or the Main Stand and joking with supporters as he readied himself to deliver a corner into the opposition area.

Ever-present in the 1962/63 season when the harsh winter derailed Bury’s promotion push to the top flight resulting in an eighth-place finish in the Second Division, Tony also played in the game in which Brian Clough sustained his career-ending injury. Years later, the two met again after a game at Blackburn Rovers at which Clough had been managing Nottingham Forest. Clough’s broad smile in the photographic evidence of the meeting is testament to how you couldn’t help be captivated by Tony’s simple joy in life.
Spells at Oldham and Chesterfield followed before a move across the Irish Sea to Sligo Rovers as player-manager, but it was always Bury that remained his true footballing love. The emotional video interview he gave to the club during the COVID-19 lockdown highlighted how upset he was at the club’s fate, and also how fondly remembered he was by supporters.

It was incredible to be able to welcome Tony back to the ground he loved for the game against Wythenshawe in March 2024.

His daughter Lisa remembers how his breath was taken away when he got out of the car and saw the Main Stand before he shouted his familiar cry of ‘Up the Shakers!’ It was, she says, a day of which he enjoyed every second.

Devoted to his family, Tony is survived by his wife Sybil whom he married while a Shaker in the 1960 close season, Lisa and her brothers Anthony and John, his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Go well, Tony Bartley. You loved us and we loved you.

    3. Too Big For Your Boots?

Women’s First Team player, Jasmine Dawkes Bury Football Club is proud to support this initiative, along with our friends at the FGRS Community Hub to help grassroots and school sports.

We will be collecting pre loved football boots, trainers and astro boots in useable condition at our home game against AFC Liverpool on Saturday 6th April.

These will then be distributed to local schools and grass roots clubs for children and families who need them. If you are unable to bring them to the game, the FGRS Community Hub (also based at Gigg Lane) will be collecting donations from the 8th April until Friday 19th April. The Hub’s opening hours are Monday 12.30-2.30pm, and Wednesday and Friday 9.30am-2.30pm.
Members of the Men’s Recreational Side
Your preloved boots and trainers could make a huge difference to children and young people as they are often a big expense to families. Both Bury FC and FGRS Community Hub firmly believe that nobody should be prevented from taking part in sport for want of the right footwear. It also helps us do our bit for the environment by keeping the boots out of landfill when they could be out to good use.

Our squads across the whole club have been taking part by enthusiastically collecting with the Men’s and Women’s First Teams, Under 23s, Women’s Reserves, Women’s and Men’s Recreational and Development, Futsol and U12s all organising their own collections.
        Boys U12s Men’s First Team Women’s Futsal Women’s Recreational Women’s First Team Men’s U23s

A real club and community effort! We look forward to receiving your boot donations in a couple of weeks.

    6. Treasureline: Join Now!

As we head towards 2024 and the new era at Bury Football Club, we reach out to update you around the future of the ‘Treasureline’ partnership with our friends and colleagues at National Youth & Community Development Association (NYCDA).

Alongside this great news, there is a chance to win on our prize draw available to all new members who sign up by Sunday 10th December. Full details will be available at the bottom of the page.

Many of you will fondly remember the old Treasureline lottery of yesteryear, which raised funds for the club in the form of a weekly lottery draw. That unfortunately almost completely disappeared due to initial management issues, and eventually the impacts of Covid which significantly impacted on the collection of door-to-door cash contributions.

Industry experts, and Bury town centre based NYCDA, took on the remnants and refocused the old approach to ensure the Treasureline name was not lost. This way proceeds were continued to be generated, with Treasureline becoming part of their NYCDA Weekly Draw and those remaining contributors could continue to support their chosen cause.

Going forward, fans and local people alike can join this draw, and in turn will be able to support this cause by becoming a participant in the NYCDA Weekly Draw. All proceeds generated are to be used to support the club’s activities across the Borough of Bury, in growing our men’s and womens’ youth and elite player development programmes.

Activity behind the scenes is beginning to ramp up, so stand by to see and hear more and more on social media, at game days, at official club events, door-to-door campaigns, telesales activities, email campaigns, business initiatives and much more.

Members can play for as little as £1 per week with the opportunity to win BIG!!!

Fantastic cash amounts, including a main weekly £1,000 prize, as well as a £500 Rollover, which can rise to a huge £10,000, are up for grabs! Additional prizes ranging from £10 to £100 are also available every Wednesday.
Click here to join Right now we are running a special prize draw incentive to join by midnight on Sunday 10th December. All fans who sign up to support the club in this way can enter the prize draw by clicking on the image and inserting ‘BURYFCXMAS’ as the promo code when joining!

Prizes including a signed 2023/24 home shirt, a pair of tickets into hospitality and a number of items of official club merchandise.

For information including how to join and weekly results, as well as some insights as to where the proceeds are used and the kind of work this partnership will continue to support, please take a look at the microsite HERE.
