WOMEN’S MATCH PREVIEW: POULTON VICS FC LADIES (A) SUN 27TH OCT 2PM KICK-OFF
Our next women’s first team match sees the Shakers head out of Bury, as we take on Poulton Vics in the Alliance Design & Print Cup.
Poulton currently top the table in Division One South of the North West Womens Regional League, having won nine matches out of nine played. The team most recently beat Runcorn Linnets FC Ladies 3-2. Poulton’s strongest match to date saw them achieve a 9-0 victory over Mossley Hill Athletic First Ladies.
Last season saw Poulton place second in the table, one below Mancunian Unity who were promoted into the Premier division of the NWWRL.
Bury’s most recent match saw the Shakers draw 2-2 against Salford, with the squad sitting seventh in the Premier division.
Head over and support the girls in what is set to be a competitive cup game.

Women’s Match Preview: Salford City (A) Weds 21st Aug 7:30pm kick-off
Our Women’s first team start the season tonight against Salford City Lionesses. In the opening game of the season the girls will look to start the campaign under Jason Jarrett as they mean to go on.
Last week Salford were beaten 1-0 in a tough away opener against Tranmere Rovers. Salford endured a tough 2023/24 season finishing 10th in the North West Women’s Regional League (same division as Bury) picking up just 7 points fewer than Wednesday’s opponents, Bury.
In the sides most recent meeting it was Bury who came out on top with a convincing 4-0 victory in April in what was the side’s final match of the season. Early in the season, in Bury’s home fixture, Salford produced a second-half masterclass to earn a 5-0 win.
Amongst the summer signings to strengthen squad depth ahead of the new campaign include 16-year-old, latest arrival Leah Costello Eastwood, former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jordan Harding and 16-year-old forward Natalie Ainsworth who has looked like a confident goal scorer in pre-season.
Why not come down and support the girls at St Ambrose Barlow RC High School where this match against Salford will be taking place.

WOMEN’S MATCH PREVIEW: SALFORD CITY FC LIONESSES WOMEN (H) SUN 13TH OCT 2PM KICK-OFF
Our next women’s first team match sees the Shakers host Salford City FC Lionesses Women, following Sunday afternoon’s loss against Wythenshawe.
Salford currently sit in ninth place in the Premier Division of the North West Womens Regional League, one below Bury. The Shakers last came head to head with Salford in August, with the match finishing with a 1-1 draw.
Salford has experienced a turbulent few games, most recently drawing 1-1 with Curzon Ashton, and West Didsbury and Chorlton, losing 3-0 and 2-3 to Wythenshawe Women, and winning 0-4 against FC United of Manchester Women.
Head down to Gigg Lane and support the girls in what is sure to be a competitive match. Entry via turnstile (West Stand) from 1pm.

WOMEN’S MATCH PREVIEW: TRANMERE ROVERS WOMEN (A) SUN 8TH SEPT 2PM KICK-OFF
Our women’s first team heads to Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday, as we face Tranmere Rovers Women in our reverse fixture.
The match comes following three consecutive home games at Gigg Lane.
After a 5-1 loss against Mancunian Unity on 1st September, the Shakers will be looking to return to previous form following a four match unbeaten run.
Tranmere currently sit ninth in the table, four below Bury’s fifth place. Out of four games played so far, Tranmere have experienced an unpredictable season, winning 1-0 against Salford City FC Lionesses, drawing 1-1 against Wythenshawe and losing 3-2 to the Shaker and 4-1 against Crewe Alexandra.

WOMEN’S MATCH PREVIEW: WEST DIDSBURY & CHORLTON AFC WOMENS (H) SUN 3RD NOV 2PM KICK-OFF
Our next women’s game sees the Shakers host West Didsbury & Chorlton at Gigg Lane.
West Didsbury & Chorlton currently place ninth in the Premier Division of the North West Womens Regional League, two positions below the Shakers. It is the first time the two teams have met this season, with the reverse fixture scheduled to be played at Step Places Stadium in March.
The visitors have currently won three games out of ten played, with two drawn and five losses.
Come down to Gigg Lane and support the girls. Entry via turnstile (West Stand) from 1pm.

WOMEN’S MATCH PREVIEW: WYTHENSHAWE FOOTBALL CLUB WOMENS FIRST (A) SUN 6TH SEPT 2PM KICK-OFF
Our women’s first team visits Wythenshawe this Sunday, where the Shakers will be looking to revert to the success they saw in the early stages of the season.
Currently sitting first in the table, Wythenshawe has had a successful run so far, with the team yet to experience defeat. So far, they have beaten West Didsbury and Chorlton (0-7), Crewe Alexandra (6-0), Mancunian Unity (0-4), Salford City (2-3 and 3-0) and FC United of Manchester (1-5).
They also drew against Tranmere Rovers (1-1).

Women’s Pre-Season Schedule Confirmed
We are delighted to confirm our Women’s pre-season fixture list, as the team begins its preparations to play at Step 5 of the pyramid.
It begins with the double-header away at Thackley on July 1st, with the ladies kicking off at 12pm, followed by the men at 3:30 pm. Tickets are on sale now.
The following Sunday (9th July) sees a trip to east Manchester to take on last season’s North West Women’s Regional League champions FC United of Manchester.
Bradford City are then in town on Sunday 16th July for our only home pre-season fixture, the West Yorkshire side were relegated from Step 4 last season, and will be playing in the North East equivalent division to our team.
We are back on the road for the remaining friendlies on Sunday 23rd July, which will see us make the short trip to Accrington Stanley before facing Port Vale who play their football in the West Midlands Regional League Division One on July 30th.
The pre-season campaign will end on Sunday 6th August when we make the trip across the England-Wales border to face Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Two weeks later, the league campaign will begin, fixtures for which will be published in due course.
More details about individual pre-season fixtures will be available on social media in the coming weeks.

It was founded by a team with multiple years experience of working in IT, who were passionate about providing a personal and responsive service to their clients.
The group had seen how companies already in this field were causing more problems than they were solving, and whose approach was based on sales rather than solutions, they saw that the key to a successful relationship was creating a proper partnership based on trust, delivering solutions and services that work for their clients.

Your Team at Bury Football Club
We’ve had a busy few weeks despite the lack of home games, and thought it would be a useful time to summarise a few of the new faces around the club.
We wanted to begin a process of introducing new people into the club this season as we look to build up and work our way up the football pyramid. That process is now underway.
Dave McNabb joined us as first team manager in October. He is supported by:
Tim Lees – Assistant Manager
Jack Hook – Coach
Sam Ashton – Goalkeeper Coach
Chris Watts – Analyst
Darren Davies – Opposition Scout
Aidan Bowe and Alan Raw continue to support the team as physios.
We will establish a ‘fan forum’ to allow supporters to hear from Dave and Tim in due course.
We also have volunteers who are intermittently involved, some working with us as part of their university studies.
Stuart Wright has joined as full time stadium manager. He has previous experience in the role at Oldham Athletic as well as experience in security roles at other organisations. He will primarily be supported by Dave Cheshire who many of you will know has been working at the ground most days for the past eighteen months.
Neil Sears is currently supporting us as in the club secretarial team after qualifying with a degree in football business and law, whilst he looks for a full time paid position at a professional football club.
We are also in discussions with someone to assist with our bookkeeping on a part time basis and hope to finalise that appointment within the next week or two.
As previously announced Jon Newby has already joined the Football Club Board and has a remit of helping the the first team manager develop an appropriate strategy for recruitment and retention of players as we move through the pyramid with its different demands and challenges at each level.
These are all costs borne by the football club, which will professionalise the club, relieve pressure on volunteers and reduce costs within the company which owns the stadium.
We would again like to acknowledge the efforts of all of the volunteers who have rebuilt the club since 2019, it really couldn’t have been achieved without the hard work of everyone involved. You have put us in the position that we are in today.
