    The Shakers host Darwen FC Women on Sunday, in what is set to be a challenging match on home turf. Darwen currently sit first in the Premier Division of the North West Women’s Regional Football League, with Bury sitting tenth. Darwen have won eight of their ten league games this season, suffering defeat to only Fleetwood Town (3-1) and Trammere Rovers (2-3).     We can confirm the departure of winger, Iyrwah Gooden, who has joined Bradford Park Avenue. The 24-year-old joined the club in the summer after leaving NCEL champions Emley. He made 25 appearances for the Shakers, scoring five goals, including a debut goal against Squires Gate in July.     This home cup-tie provides us with a double benefit: we can give Under-23s players game time and have an extra training session before the tough fixture against high-flying Lower Breck on Saturday.   It also gives fans a chance to get along to Gigg Lane to recall and celebrate our outstanding performance of the season.     It wouldn’t be surprising if Longridge Town come to Gigg Lane fired up with determination to take revenge for the 5-1 defeat we inflicted on them last month, when they visit Gigg Lane this weekend.   It was a score that perhaps flattered the Shakers back in October, conceding three penalties in the game but after overcoming that storm and Mitch Allen saving two of the penalties, the result was empthatic in the end.     We’re in Macron Cup action at Gigg Lane on Monday night, as we host Chadderton, kick-off 7:45pm. This fixture will be pay on the gate only (cash / card), no advance tickets will be on sale. Blocks A to D in the Main Stand will be open for this fixture, with entry via the turnstiles for the Main Stand.
