    We return very quickly after our 2-2 draw with Burscough on Saturday, to take on Cheadle Town at Park Road this Tuesday evening as the NWCFL roadshow continues. The groups of helpers tending to the pitch early on Saturday morning helped to give the game the go ahead, but this didn’t mean a fast start for the Shakers, going in behind at the break. To help protect the pitch from the predicted snow fall yesterday and any freezing conditions that followed, covers were placed across the pitch on Wednesday.     We welcome Burscough for their first visit to Gigg Lane as we hope to resume matters in the NWCFL Premier Division this Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Our game on Tuesday night was called off owing to a water-logged pitch, so we will now play Ramsbottom later in the season. With 14 games to fit in between now and 20th April, there’s plenty to get your teeth into as we head on the hunt for top spot.     Someone, somewhere doesn’t want us to play this game. For a second time, our game with Ramsbottom United due to take place this evening has had to have been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. A local referee was called when there was no sign that the water was draining away following heavy rain earlier today.
