Following an early pitch inspection, tonight’s fixture at home to Wythenshawe has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. Temperatures dropped over the weekend and with little change due over today, plus the snow covering in Bury overnight an early review of the pitch was arranged this morning with the match referee. We can confirm that the FA have agreed to a stay of the sanction requiring us to close Gigg Lane to supporters whilst the appeal is heard. There will be no sanctions until the appeal process concludes. This means that our game against Wythenshawe will be open for supporters of both sides to attend. Bury Football Club has been informed by Manchester FA that an independent committee has decided that due to the offensive comments made by two supporters during our game against West Didsbury and Chorlton in September, we should be forced to play our next two home games behind closed doors.
