    1. Match Info: Prestwich Heys (H), BOXING DAY Tue 26th Dec, 3pm KO

In a season of new starts and reconnecting with football in our town, the return of a Boxing Day fixture at Gigg Lane places another tick in the box of all Bury supporters, as we welcome Prestwich Heys for a local derby clash this festive period.

With the ground left to ruin from 2019, the roar of a Gigg Lane crowd on Boxing Day went with it. And all who have been involved with its return will no doubt be ‘walking down the the Manny Road’ with beaming smiles this year to witness what is set to be a Christmas cracker of a game.

However, the less said about the last Boxing Day fixture at Gigg Lane, the better! Newly-appointed manager, club legend Chris Lucketti, precided over his first home game in charge, and looking to propel the Shakers from their lowly position at the foot-of-the-table after a dreadful start to the season which had seen Lee Clark leave his post in October.

The ‘new manager bounce’ didn’t work however, and the visitors on the day Rotherham United ran out 3-0 winners in front of a crowd of 4,630. We hope for much better result this time around!

For all the details of this big local derby, the full match information pack can be found below.
        In Opposition – Prestwich Heys
The origins of Prestwich Heys AFC can be traced back to February 9th 1938 when a meeting was called at the Music Room of the Heys Road Boys School at which Elgar Lumsden put forward the idea of forming an Old Boys Association.

Despite the onset of the Second World War a year later, the Association flourished under the Chairmanship of Proctor Bell, who also acted as Secretary of the football arm, known as Heys Old Boys AFC and was acknowledged as one of the region’s best.

The team gradually progressed through the Bury Amateur League and in to the South East Lancashire League claiming Championships in 1960, 1961 and 1964. Under the guidance of Peter Gilmore in the sixties, Heys won the prestigious Lancashire Amateur Cup in 1967 followed by the one and only Lancashire Combination Grand Slam in the 1970/71 season with Heys bringing all four trophies available back to Grimshaws.

The club also changed its name in 1964 to Prestwich Heys AFC, an acknowledgement of the fame achieved by the club as they proved one of the nations top amateur clubs.

Thousands flocked to see Heys play, and beat, the likes of Sutton United, Ferryhill Athletic, Finchley and Highgate United in the FA Amateur Cup with the clubs best run taking Heys to the last 16. The victory over Sutton United in 1969 ranks as one of Heys most famous moments, attracting nationwide coverage, coming a week before their opponents were due to meet Leeds United in the FA Cup.

The above has been taken from the history section of the Prestwich Heys website, read more here.

In more recent seasons, Heys re-entered the NWCFL in 2017 (following a stint in the divisions in the early-80s) before gaining promotion to the Premier Division during the covid league re-shuffle in 2021. The side finished 7th last season, and are looking to improve on that this season, comfortably sat inside the play-off positions going into the festive period.

    2. Match Info: Radcliffe (A), Sat 28th Sept, 3pm KO

Home victories over Stockport Town in the league and Burscough in the Isuzu FA Vase second qualifying round take our unbeaten run to 17 games. And that’s not to mention third place in the NW Counties league table with games in hand.

It all provides an excellent springboard for our dive into the deep waters of the game against supreme rivals Radcliffe.

But the Shakers made many fans shake with fear by conceding a late, late goal in the one-sided game against Town on Tuesday. Rustam Stepans had scored from a penalty on 55 minutes, and a second goal from Sam Coughlan on the stroke of 90 finally seemed to have clinched it.

But three minutes later Harley Monaghan sparked a scary ending but a satisfactory 2-1 result.

Goals from Ruben Jerome, Ben Hockenhull and Rustam Stepans made the Isuzu FA Vase second qualifying round win against Burscough on Saturday a complete contrast. It seemed all over by half-time. And so it was: 3-0.

Highlights and post-match interviews from Tuesday’s win are available on our YouTube channel (links below)
          In Opposition – Radcliffe
It’s not been a good start in the Vanarama National League North for newly-promoted Radcliffe. They’re currently bottom: played 8, won 0, drawn 4, lost 4.

The 2-1 away win against Warrington in the Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round will have given morale at the club a hefty boost. And they will be hoping for another when they take on Bury at the Neuven Stadium in the third qualifying round.

The game will have special resonance for 37-year-old Nicky Adams, who played for Bury during his long career in league football.

Radcliffe football club came into being as Radcliffe Borough in 1949. It was a bitter blow for many in the town when it became part of Bury Metropolitan Borough in 1974. And that may explain why it took so long for the club to drop “Borough” from its title – in 2018.

    4. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (A), Sat 20th Apr, 3pm KO

The final league game of the season is upon us, and albeit possibly a slim chance, the league title is still up for grabs as we head the short distance north along the A56 to take on the Rams this Saturday.

The Shakers faithful sucked up the available tickets in their numbers, with an anticipated crowd of 2,000 descending on the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium, which is one of three locations that the league trophy could be arriving at as the league season comes to its conclusion.

The side weren’t able to capitalise on both Wythenshawe and Wythenshawe Town not winning last weekend which opened up the title race, when we took on in-form Padiham in our hastily arranged fixture at Broadhurst Park on Tuesday.

Goals in each half for the visitors put us on the back foot and chasing in a must-win game. Connor Comber’s excellent free-kick strike late in added time at the end of the game, was the only attempt that was able to breach the goal, despite numerous efforts going ever so close. The post (on two occasions), saves, blocks and shots flashing wide, as well as some loud penalty shouts from the majority 3,500 home crowd left all with a frustration of what might have been.

Just one of these chances going in, would no doubt have changed the game. But they didn’t, and we now hope for another minor miracle. A win for the Shakers, and both Wythenshawe sides not winning again gives us the trophy. A win for either of those sides means we will head into the playoffs, whatever the result in Ramsbottom.

A keen eye will be cast towards the other games, but the job needs doing first in our own game. Something Dave McNabb and his squad will be keen to put right following Tuesday.

As ever we need you to be the 12th team member behind the group from the off. Wherever you are taking in the game, in the ground, via our audio coverage from Roch Valley Radio, or across our social media channels.

If you are in the ground, we do ask for your patience as our hosts are expecting a larger than usual crowd. Please arrive early, and be respectful of the staff on hand to assist on the day.

As ever, at all times the playing field needs to remain the domain of the players and officials ONLY. No matter the result, fans are requested to remain in the stand areas for the duration of the game. There have been incidents of Bury supporters on the pitch this season and we cannot have a repeat.

Should there be a need for celebration, please remain where you are. The manager wants to assure all supporters, that they will remain on the ground for as long as is needed to see every single supporter. But this can only be done if the playing areas are clear.

The match information for the trip, can be found below.

        In Opposition – Ramsbottom

Ramsbottom United, established in 1966 during England’s World Cup triumph, has been guided by its founding chairman, Harry Williams, for over five decades. From humble beginnings on a local park to its current home at the Riverside Stadium, the club has grown into a community pillar. Early success in regional leagues during the 1970s set the foundation for future achievements.

By 1995, Ramsbottom United joined the football pyramid, ascending quickly through the North West Counties League with key infrastructure developments, including the installation of floodlights and ground improvements. The club’s participation in the FA Cup and consistent league performances marked a period of robust growth and fan engagement.

The late 2000s brought managerial changes and the dynamic duo of Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson, propelling the club to new heights with record points and victories. Their departure in 2015, however, led to a challenging period, culminating in relegation. Despite setbacks, the club’s resilience shone through in the FA Trophy, where they made a commendable run until a dramatic tie with AFC Fylde.

Recent years have seen fluctuations in fortune, with promising seasons disrupted by managerial changes and external factors like the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, facing another relegation, Ramsbottom appointed Steve Wilkes, aiming to reclaim their status in the Northern Premier League. Through all the ups and downs, Ramsbottom United has remained a cornerstone of the community, embodying the spirit of local football.

    5. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (A), Tue 17th Sept, 7:45pm KO

There is no respite for the Shakers and the games keep coming! We follow our cracking 3-0 Emirates FA Cup victory at Blyth Spartans on Saturday by taking on local rivals Ramsbottom United at the Harry Williams Stadium in Rammy on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

At Blyth, second-half goals from Alex Cherera, Bebeto Gomes and Connor Pye saw off a team who have previously enjoyed many Cup successes and laid to rest a nearly 30-year-old ghost, by avenging Spartans two-nil victory at Gigg Lane in the same competition in 1995.

Highlights and post-match review is available on our YouTube channel (links below)
The victory extends our unbeaten run to 14 games in all competitions. We are currently sixth in the North-West Counties Premier Division, having won six out of nine matches and drawn three.

The fact that we have played only nine games puts us at a short-term disadvantage compared with the clubs above us when it comes to the table – including The Rams, who are currently top with 26 points from 13 games.

We played Ramsbottom twice last season in the final flurry of matches which saw us narrowly miss promotion. We won 2-1 at home and drew 0-0 away, having earlier knocked them out of the Macron Cup with a win on penalties at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium in November.

It’s an early season top of the table clash and a derby at that! Full information is available below.
          In Opposition – Ramsbottom United
Last season, the Rams finished 18th in the table, with 50 points from 46 matches. But they come into the game against Bury not only top-of-the-league with eight wins already, but also fresh from a 6-0 win at Burscough on Saturday.

Manager Steve Wilkes has seen a turnaround in fortunes at the club following that disappointing season last time out. They go into this first local derby with the Shakers in fine form and will be looking to come out on top in the league for the first time, after a defeat and draw last season.

Oumar Camara and Luke Sephton look to be the ones to watch, both with six-goals each so far this term. As well as Saturday’s heavy scoreline at Burscough, they have also dispatched the same team 4-0 earlier in the season, as well as defeating early pace-setters, FC St Helens and more recently, Padiham at the Ruby Civil Arena.

We head to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium named after their owner, Harry Williams, who was on the committee which set up the club in 1966. They started life in the Bury Amateur League with Harry as manager – a position he held for 19 years. They later played in the Bolton Combination and the Manchester League before becoming a part-time professional club in the North-West Counties League in 1996.

Progression through into the Northern Premier League followed under the tutelage of joint-managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson from 2009, something that Chris Wilcock continued when in position from 2017 with chances to progress further slipping through the fingers in sometimes unfortunate circumstances.

Wilcock left for rivals at the time, Workington Town, in 2021 and the club was then relegated back into the NWCFL for the start of the 2023-24 season.

    6. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (H), Thu 11th Apr, 7.45 pm KO

This is not a drill. There are only three games left of our regular North West Counties Premier Division fixture list.

We start the final three this coming Thursday evening as we, finally, host Ramsbottom United under the Gigg Lane lights after three previous postponements due to weather in the first of two fixtures against our near neighbours in 10 days.

This will be the first time that the Shakers and The Rams will have EVER met in a league encounter in both clubs histories so it has all the making to be a cracker of a derby as we continue our promotion push.

Ramsbottom, who currently sit at 18th in the Premier Division table, will make the five mile journey down the A56 coming off the back of their first win in 6 following three defeats and two draws.

Last time we met The Rams it was in the second round of The Macron Cup where a 94th minute goal from Skipper Tom Moore made sure the match went into extra time and eventually penalties with The Shakers coming out on top in the shootout. You can see the highlights from that game here.

In our last fixture Dave McNabb’s men came out three nil winners over an AFC Liverpool side who never really looked to threaten Harry Wrights goal, with goals coming from Andy Briggs and Max Harrop who bagged his first two goals since returning to BL9

We spoke to Dave, Max and recent signing Aaron Morris following the game and you can see those interviews, as well as the highlights from that game, below

For all the details of this big local derby as we finally meet in the league, can be found below in the full match information pack. Head down for opposition details, tickets, parking and live match coverage.
        In Opposition – Ramsbottom United
Beginning life in 1966, Ramsbottom United began life as a local amateur side building a junior setup that remains an integral part of the club over 50 years later. You can’t say Ramsbottom United without immediately thinking of current (and forever!) Chairman Harry Williams. Involved from the start, you can still find Harry behind the scenes on a matchday, whether it be in the ticket booth, or dishing out pies in the food hut. A stalwart of the club and ex-manager of the first team (1966-1985), who’s name adorns the stadium that the Rams have been based at since 1980. We continue to wish him well after a recent fall has meant some time in recovery. We certainly hope he is well enough to visit Gigg Lane for this special local fixture.

Following success in both Bury Amateur and Bolton Combination leagues through the late 60s and 70s, the club made the step up into the Manchester League in 1989 before applying to join the NWCFL in the mid-90s. The ground received its grading, with the club gaining promotion from Division Two in 1997, at the same point as they acquired floodlights from local rugby side, Oldham Rugby League Club.

The Rams remained competitive until tradegy struck in 2001 when manager of the time, Ken Bridge, collapsed and died following a game against Cheadle Town. This stunted some of the club’s progress, before in 2009, Harry handed the reins to players at the time – Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson, for their first tilt at management.

They made their name in fine style, earning promotion for the first time to the NPL in 2012. Further progression and development of both the ground and playing squad occurred and after just two seasons at the elevated level, they achieved a further promotion following a play-off campaign which first overcame favourites Darlington and then Bamber Bridge to reach the third tier for the first time.

Bernard and Jonno left for the ‘Class of ’92’ and Salford City later that year, sending the club in a spin which they were unable to turn around until ex-player Chris Wilcox was appointed in October 2018. An FA Trophy run into the last-16, defeated only by high-flying AFC Fylde, was a highlight for the Willcock’s tenure which without the onset of Covid-19 would no doubt have earned the club a further promotion in that period.

Willcock moved on in 2021 to Workington and the club’s results faltered afterwards, with Lee Donafee struggling to maintain a position in the top half of the league and being replaced, with incumbant David Chadwick unable to keep the Rams in the NPL, with the side slipping back into the NWCFL last summer.

    7. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (H), Tue 19th Mar, 7.45 pm KO

We go again! And we try again, for the third time in fact, as we have the visit of Ramsbottom United this Tuesday under the Gigg Lane lights.

Dave McNabb’s squad will be keen to put matters right after a disappointing week which only yielded a single point from our three games, and set us up against it in the battle for top spot.

But battle they must, and with fans returning to the stands, the players won’t be short of encouragement following the frustration of having to miss out on two big games on the run-in.

Dec Daniels hobbled off and will be a doubt for this Bury derby game, but the return of Andy Briggs as a second half substitute this weekend would have brought smiles to the Shakers faithful. The manager mentioned Briggs’ impact in his post-match interview, available below. You can also catch up with our first competitive match-up with the Rams earlier this season, with our highlights of the penalty win in the Macron Cup also below.

They have struggled of late, with a single point in the last five games coming courtesy of a 3-3 draw on Saturday away at Burscough. However, it was a game that they were leading 3-0 at the break.

    8. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (H), Tue 23rd Jan, 7.45pm KO

As we all sat at home twiddling our thumbs this weekend after another cancellation, we watched the thaw slowly take hold and pitches across the north-west started to breathe again.

Hopefully that is the end of the freezing conditions as we rocket towards the end of January and look to resume battle in the league. We will be keeping a watchful eye however, over the incoming weather in the hours leading up to the game. Head to social media ( X / Facebook ) or right here at buryfc.co.uk for all the latest updates.

If it is ‘GAME ON’, what better way to pick matters up than in a local derby, as we welcome Ramsbottom United for their first competitive fixture at Gigg Lane.

A Macron Cup fixture at The Harry Williams Riverside Stadium last November being the only previous meeting between the two sides, with late goals from both sides leading to a dramatic 2-2 draw and equally dramatic penalty shoot-out. The Shakers came out on top thanks to a Gaz Peet top corner finish as we headed into sudden death. Highlights of that game can be found below.
For all the details of this big local derby as we finally meet in the league, can be found below in the full match information pack. Head down for opposition details, tickets, parking and live match coverage.

    9. Match Info: Ramsbottom United (H), Tue 6th Feb, 7.45 pm KO

Your Shakers made it six for six this past Saturday as we came away from the Arcoframe arena with all three points as we continue on a run of fine form and remain unbeaten in the league since November.

Oli Jepsongot on the scoresheet with a powerful header at the back post and Andy Briggs netted his 20th and 21st goals of the season to ensure Dave McNabb’s men came away with all three points.

Pilkington almost found away back into the game in the dying minutes of the second half capitalising on a rare mistake in the Bury defence and slotting a late goal past Harry Wright but The Shakers stood firm to close out the game.

You can see the highlights from our weekend victory at Pilkington Below.

We now look ahead to the “ELR Derby” against Ramsbottom United in a game that has now fallen victim to the winter weather twice. Will it be third time lucky?

The game will be a tough test as we will face a Rammy side that has found form in the last couple of hames beating Lower Breck 3-2 and easing past Litherland REMYCA 5-1

Former Northwich Victoria manager Steve Wilkes took over the reins for this season, and has the team sat in 15th, with 11 wins and 7 draws and 12 defeats from 30 games so far.

    10. Match Info: Rochdale AFC Women (H), Sun 12th Nov, 2.30pm KO

Despite the disappointing postponement of our last fixture, this weekend the team attention turns to the FA Women’s Challenge cup quarter-final.

Bury’s last fixture in this competition against Manchester Laces was awarded as a home walkover. Rochdale gained their place in the quarter final by beating Mancunian Unity Reserves 7-0 last month.

As for form coming into the game, our last fixture was an emphatic 5-1 win against Blackpool FC in the North West Women’s Regional League, with goals coming from Chloe Greenall, Sinead Nugent, Shelby Wolstencroft and Isobel Dooley. The team look to maintain this momentum and progress further in the Cup.

The team look to get back-to-back wins in all competitions and make it through to the semi-final of the FA Womens Challenge cup. Our opposition play in GMWFL, after reforming this season.

The Fixture is to be played on Sunday 12th November at 2.30pm, at Manchester College (Openshaw Campus). With another week of heavy rain predicted, forward planning has enabled us to book this 3G pitch to ensure the game is played. This is also where our mens u23s play their fixtures. It is a modern astro facility with a very good viewing platform, so make sure you get down to support the team.
In Opposition – Rochdale AFC Women
Following the withdrawal of Rochdale AFC Ladies last season, Dale have reformed their women’s team for 2023-24 – Rochdale AFC Women.

In conjunction with Rochdale AFC Community Trust and Rochdale AFC Ladies, the team will strive to play at the highest level possible.

The team is coached by former Bolton Wanderers head coach Lee Atkinson and play in the GMWFL Premier Division.
        Venue – Openshaw Campus
Admission at the Manchester College, Openshaw Campus is FREE.

    11. Match Info: Skelmersdale United (A), Sat 25th Nov, 3pm KO

After two weeks of cup football, that saw us exit the FA vase after a tough battle with Whickham in the North East and progress in the Macron Cup following penalty shootout heroics from goalkeeping coach and reserve keeper Sam Ashton, we return to NWCFL premier league action this Saturday as we face Skelmersdale United away at The Community Ground in Burscough.

Following the Ramsbottom game we were thrilled to receive a note from The ‘Rams’ Club Secretary, Tony Cunningham, praising the club and our fans on the impeccable behaviour shown by all as they managed a larger than average crowd.

We have included the note below and would like to thank our travelling fans for being a credit to the club.
Highlights from Saturday’s drama laden Macron Cup tie at the Riverside Stadium .

Turning our attention to the weekend we meet a Skelmersdale side that are very much going through a period of transition and transformation following their demotion from the NPL last term. Despite their mid-table finish, the Community Ground did not meet the ground grading requirements for the league and they returned to the NWCFL after just one season in the NPL.

With former Premier League defender Pascal Chimbonda coming in at the helm just lasst month, Skem have seen a raft of personnel changes on the field and are yet to find a foothold in the league managing only two wins and two draws in their opening 23 league fixtures, leaving them sitting bottom of the table on eight points and cut adrift from the teams above.

In the debut episode of ‘Playing Away’ this week, we caught up with Skelmersdale Chairman Frank Hughes, to discuss all things Skem and the upcoming fixture.

You can watch the first episode below.

    12. Match Info: Skelmersdale Utd (H), Sat 27th Jan, 3pm KO

January comes to a close (we can’t believe it either), and we hope beyond hope that we can get a game on in what has felt like too long!

The Shakers last took to the field almost two weeks ago when we dispatched Litherland REMYCA (highlights below) and in doing so, keeping up with those at the top of the league in the process. Due to the weather playing havoc with fixtures across the league, there has not been much change since with Wythenshawe Town remaining top by a point, with Wythenshawe, Chadderton and Prestwich close behind.

Skelmersdale arrive in BL9 in a spot of bother at the foot of the division, but were the last side to take full points off Dave McNabb’s side back in November. During an out-of-sorts first half performance, the Shakers fell behind to a Mark Bollongino header just before half-time. A rejuvenated Bury side were just getting to grips with forcing a way back into the game at the start of the second half, when a mix-up at the back gifted the home side a two-goal lead. This was ultimately the tale of the game and despite Skem being reduced to 10-men, only a late Sam Burns’ consolation penalty was to show for the visiting sides efforts on the day.

The lads will be looking to put this right this weekend, and they need you there to do just that. Get behind the team by being ‘Part of It’ at Gigg Lane this weekend – get all your match information below!
            In Opposition – Skelmersdale United
In its initial 75 years, Skelmersdale United emerged from the Skelmersdale Wesleyan Day School’s team, evolving through various name changes, finally settling as Skelmersdale United. Joining the Lancashire Combination in 1891, they navigated challenges, winning their first major trophy in 1908. Noteworthy figures like Tom Tinsley and a move to White Moss Park marked this era.

The club underwent a significant transformation in 1961 when Skelmersdale became a designated new town. Under Wesley Bridge’s management, the team restructured, achieving success in the FA Amateur Cup and entering the Northern Premier League in 1971. However, by 1976, United faced a decline, eventually finding themselves in the North West Counties League.

The club experienced highs and lows over subsequent years, including financial struggles and a temporary homelessness episode. Under Tommy Lawson’s management, Skelmersdale ascended to the Northern Premier League Premier Division in the 2012–2013 season, marking their highest position in non-league football. The following years brought both success and challenges, with notable events such as relegation in 2017.

Despite a rollercoaster journey, Skelmersdale United achieved promotion in the 2021/22 season under manager Paul McNally, only to face relegation in 2022/23 due to ground grading issues. In October 2023, former Premier League defender Pascal Chimbonda took on the role of manager, steering the club into a new chapter.

This season so far, the club sits at the foot of the table with just six wins from their 31 games. And with their win over landlords Burscough on Boxing Day declared null and void following an ineligable player being included in the team, they are nine points behind the Linnets in their quest to avoid relegation. However, there has been a bit of a renaissance since the turn of the year with two wins out of three.

    13. Match Info: South Liverpool (H), Tue 3rd Sept, 7:45pm KO

We return to league action tomorrow evening, with the visit of South Liverpool to Gigg Lane.

Dave McNabb’s side made it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions, with a 2-0 win away at Garforth Town, booking in our place in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Alex Cherera & Lewis Alessandra scored on either side of the break. Cherera now has five FA Cup goals this season.

The draw has just been made for the next round, and we head to either Campion or Blyth Spartans in the next round on Saturday 14th September. They replay this Wednesday, following a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

Focusing back on the league and ahead of Tuesday’s game, we sit five points off the league leaders Ramsbottom United, with three games in hand created by our cup exploits in both the FA Cup and FA Vase this season so far.

You can hear from Chris Watts and Josh Gregory, as well as catchup on the match highlights below:
              In Opposition – South Liverpool
South Liverpool, formed in 1935, were promoted to the North West Counties League in season 2021/22 returning to the National League System after a 30 year gap and 2024/25 sees them in the Premier Division of the North West Counties.

This was courtesy of a play-off final win on penalities against Ashton Town in April.

Manager Martin Ryman has been at the helm of the club since 2001 and is South’s longest ever serving manager and also played for South between 1992 and 2000.

Ryman’s side have won one from their opening seven league games and sit in 21st in the table.

    14. Match Info: Squires Gate (A), Sat 27th Jul, 3pm KO

      Here. We. Go!

After a fantastic pre-season, seeing us win seven out of our seven games with four clean sheets and only three goals conceded and 14 goals scored, against a mix of opponents from higher and lower divisions, we head into the new campaign looking sharp with one aim: Promotion to the Northern Premier League.

Recruitment has gone well over the summer with many new faces coming in and some quickly on there way to already becoming fan favourites. We go into the first game with a very strong squad which will surely give Dave some selection headaches over the coming weeks and months.

We kick off the 2024/25 North West Counties Premier Division Campaign this coming Saturday on the Fylde Coast at Squires Gate in what is sure to be an excellent opening day.

So grab your ticket, get down and help us smash The Brian Addison Stadium’s attendance record!

Watch the highlights from our last trip to “The Gate” below.
          In Opposition – Squires Gate
Get full details on the history of Squires Gate via the NWCFL website here.

In more recent times, current manager Luke Evans took over in 2019, leading the team to 9th place before COVID-19 halted the season. The club made several improvements, including new changing rooms and a media team. The 2020-21 season was cut short, but new partnerships were formed, and an Under-23 team was established. In 2021-22, they reached the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round and finished 17th in the league. Chairman Tony Jo passed away, leading to a challenging 2022-23 season, but the team reached the FA Vase Third Round.

In 2023, John Maguire stepped down as Secretary, and new committee members, including Chairman John Pladas, were appointed. Gate finished one spot above relegated Skelmersdale United at the end of last season, so will be looking to start well to avoid a repeat.

    17. Match Info: Stockport Town (H), Tue 24th Sept, 7:45pm KO

Shakers go into their midweek home game against Stockport cock-a-hoop after Saturday’s convincing 3-0 Isuzu FA Vase victory over Burscough.

The result never looked in doubt after Reuben Jerome opened the scoring in the seventh minute. There were elements of luck in the goal, but it was reward for shrewd use of the long ball against a shaky defence.

It was all over bar the shouting by half-time. Defender Ben Hockenhull notched the second from close range following a free kick in the 31st minute and Rustam Stepans grabbed the third goal and his ninth of the season four minutes later.

The victory sees us through to the first round proper of the competition on October 19, when we face Chadderton. It takes our encouraging unbeaten start to the season to 16 matches.

There were several changes in the Shakers line-up on Saturday, and expect more against Stockport Town as we look ahead to our massive FA Cup game at Radcliffe Borough on Saturday.
                  In Opposition – Stockport Town
This is Stockport Town’s first season in the NWCFL Premier Division following their promotion as Division One South runners-up for the second year running.

They’ve made a decent start, winning six and losing five of their 13 matches and at the moment are in 10th position in the league table. After losing three games on the bounce to Abbey Hey (H) Burscough (H) and Chadderton (A), Town won their last three – at home to FC St Helens and Prestwich Heys and away at AFC Liverpool.

The club was created in 2014, and after a season of matches against some decent sides was accepted into the NWCFL Division One South a year later. A new era began five years ago, when Town was bought by national coaching organisation the Pro Football Academy, which aims to nurture the talent of children aged 5-14.

    18. Match Info: Uttoxeter Town at Gigg Lane, Sat 5th Aug, 3pm KO

Following back to back wins in our opening fixtures in the North West Counties Premier Division our focus now shifts to the FA Cup and the first fixture in this history-steeped competition back at Gigg Lane in over four years.

After confident performances on both the opening day against Glossop North End and Colne this Tuesday (highlights below), Andy Welsh’s men have set off out of the blocks at blistering pace with eight goals in the opening two games.

In what promises to be a fantastic occasion as we welcome FA Cup football back to Gigg, the Shakers will actually enter the hallowed turf as the “away” side due to the fixture being shifted from Uttoxeter’s OldField Sports Ground due to concerns over managing a large crowd.

That being said we look forward to hosting Uttoxeter, their fans, volunteers, staff and players this coming Saturday.

So Shakers, get down in numbers. BANG that drum and let’s make Gigg roar!!!

In Opposition – Uttoxeter Town F.C
The club was formed in 1972 when they split from Uttoxeter Amateurs after a disagreement on the club’s location. The club joined the North Premier Division of the Staffordshire County League. In the late 1970s the club switched over to Sunday league football but in 2012 the club switched back to Saturday football and joined the Staffordshire County Senior League.

The 2012–13 season saw the club win Division One and became founding members of the Midland Football League in 2014–15. Despite finishing fifth in the division, the club dropped back down to the Staffordshire County Senior League for financial reasons. In their first season in the Staffordshire County Senior League the club entered the FA Vase for the first time, progressing to the third round before being eliminated by Coleshill Town. The prize money they earned from their FA Vase cup exploits enabled them to overcome their financial issues and they re-joined Division One of the Midlands league the following season.

In 2021, Uttoxeter were promoted to the Premier Division based on their results in the abandoned 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons.
        Tickets & Admission
Tickets are now on sale for Saturday’s FA Cup game against Uttoexter! We are opening the South Stand and monitoring sales currently, as well as making a number of 1885 Suite tickets available in the Main Stand.
Buy Tickets HERE   We know this will be a well-attended game and many supporters will want to guarantee their place by purchasing a ticket in advance, and we recommend doing so in advance as this avoids queues which are more common on pay-on-the gate turnstiles. It also helps us plan our resources better.
There will be an admission gate taking CASH & CARD payments, but if you can and buy in advance we still recommend doing so.

All seating in the South Stand is UNRESERVED.

      Prices*: £10 adult, £5 16-18, £3 Under 16s & Free for Under 5s.
      1885 Suite: £30* per ticket

    19. Match Info: West Didsbury & Chorlton (A), Sat 28th Oct, 3pm KO

What a way to follow up a bad result: two wins and two clean sheets, in-front of two bumper crowds at Gigg Lane in the past week, which put us clear at the top of the league as we head to another play-off chasing side this Saturday.

The Step Places Stadium is the venue for a sell-out clash, as fifth placed West Didsbury & Chorlton welcome the top-of-the-table Shakers to South Manchester. West’s form of two wins in seven league games will no doubt be a concern to manager Chris Rowley, but if the reverse fixture from early September is anything to go by – we are in for some fireworks.

Benito Lowe’s return from early season injury was timed perfectly, as he swiveled past his marker with added time almost up to place the ball into the top corner and send the majority of the 3,838 crowd home delighted following a pulsating 4-3 win. Recap the best bits, with our highlights below.

A 4-0 drubbing of Wythenshawe Town last weekend, with a debut hat-trick from Joe Duckworth was followed up with a more workmanlike performance against a lowly-placed Squires Gate on Tuesday. The game saw Lowe grab his 11th of the season and become the difference between the two sides. He left the field with strapping on his thigh, and of equal concern to manager Dave McNabb, Andy Scarisbrick left the field hobbling in the second half following a nasty challenge.

McNabb hope will pull up in time for the trip to West, otherwise their will no doubt be a scrap for the starting number nine shirt, with Dan Cockerline (right) joining Andy Briggs on the subs bench just before kick-off on Tuesday. Both will be vying to be on the teamsheet come Saturday at 3pm.

With a current record of seven wins from the last 10 is impressive, the manager admitted to a questioning of the squad’s mentality at points on Tuesday night. He will be pleased no doubt that whilst struggling at stages against Gate, the side still came away with the win – the sign of a good side in development.

The wins keep putting the pressure onto the chasing pack, who return to league action this weekend – with Wythenshawe taking on FC Isle of Man and Kendal Town traveling to nearby Ramsbottom United.

Let’s see where the land lies at 5pm on Saturday but for now, all your pre-match information is available below. NOTE: If you do not have a ticket for Saturday, supporters are asked not to travel to the game.
In Opposition – West Didsbury & Chorlton
West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC was founded as Christ Church A.F.C. in 1908, over 100 years ago, by Mr. R F Hartley, a Sunday School Superintendent at the church on Princess Parkway, West Didsbury.

Competing as a grassroots club in the South Manchester area for the majority of their existence, ‘West’ applied to enter the Manchester League structure in 2006 and after fitting floodlights at Brookburn Road (now called the Step Places Stadium) to meet FA requirements in 2011, were permitted into the NWCFL in 2012.

West reached the Premier Division for the very first time in 2022, following the winning of the Division One South league. They finished a respectable 9th last season, with 64 points and amassing a competitive 81 goals in the process.

    20. Match Info: West Didsbury & Chorlton (H), Sat 2nd Sept, 3pm KO

In a weekend with a quick fire double header your Shakers took on a strong Cheadle Town side in front of the Gigg Lane faithful on Saturday and faced a second trip to play an impressive Charnock in a fortnight. Our Shakers picked up 4 out of an available 6 points and we currently sit in 3rd spot in the table behind league leaders Kendal and second placed Chadderton.

All eyes are now on this coming weekend’s game and we would like to see as many of you Shakers in attendance as we return to Gigg Lane this coming Saturday and welcome West Didsbury & Chorlton.

As we look ahead to the upcoming game, we can be excited by the reinforcements now returning to the squad such as Matty Williams, Curtis Obeng, Jimmy Moore and Benito Lowe which we all hope will give Andy and his management team more choice in both attack and defence as we look to kick on.

You can catch Monday’s highlights below:
Andy Welsh, gave us his thoughts following two games in quick succession over the bank holiday weekend:
Our visitors currently sit 8th in the table following a run of games which has seen them win 3, draw 1 and lose 2 of their last six games.

Get all your pre-match information on the opposition, tickets, programmes, access to Gigg Lane, and much more in our details below.

West played friendlies at first and then in the Manchester Alliance League until the First World War. After the War the club joined the Lancashire and Cheshire League for the 1920/21 season and had to change its name to West Didsbury AFC, as that League did not permit a name suggesting association with any other body. The club was placed in Divisions 1 and A, and stayed in the top flight for 25 seasons. The first honours were double runners up in Div 1 and Rhodes Cup in 1922/23, and the club remained in the L+C League until 2006, winning many honours and providing 4 League Presidents along the way.

The home ground from before 1914 until the mid 1980’s was Christie Playing Fields, and then the owners, Manchester and Salford Playing Fields Society, gave the club notice to quit having decided to sell off the land for commercial development – now ironically called ‘Christie Fields’ office park.
After several years’ nomadic existence the club acquired the redundant and overgrown Recreation Ground at Brookburn Road in Chorlton in 1996, and made plans to restore the ground and develop a vision for a community club. This was down to the hard work of a core of players and Committee who refused to let the club fold. New changing rooms and clubhouse facilities were completed aided by a Lottery grant, new sponsors and members’ fundraising, but without a penny from the Playing Fields Society sale proceeds and in time to start the 1997-98 season at this new home.

A further name change followed in 2003 to reflect the new location in Chorlton and the club was then elected to the Manchester League in 2006. In 2007/8 West won its first Manchester League silverware lifting the Murray Shield in the last game of the club’s centenary year. That team was the nucleus of the previously successful junior team and the following season 2008/09 West just missed promotion to the Premier Division and again reached the Murray Shield Final. With a new management team led by Andy Nelson, 2009/10 was very successful and honours spread throughout the club. The 1st team won the Murray Shield (the third consecutive year in the final) and was league runners-up. The reserves won the Bridgewater League Cup and the U17 Youth team won their League.

In 2010/2011 the 1st team won the Manchester League First Division title in style with a fantastic 65 points out of 72 possible. This ranks as one of the highest points totals per game in Manchester League history dating back over a century. The clubs reserve team and youth teams also had terrific seasons, also resulting in promotion and for the second year reaching the Bridgewater Cup Final.
The Youth team reached yet another final where they were just pipped to the trophy by New Mills and the Veterans were runners up in the Premier Division of the Cheshire Veterans League. Plans were made to lease adjacent land long term for junior football to deliver the club Vision to be a FA Charter Standard Club, playing at the highest possible level it can whilst remaining financially viable.

Floodlights were erected in July 2011 to meet FA requirements and West competed in the FA Vase for the first time in 2011-12 as a Step 7 club. Election to the Step 6 and the NWCFL followed in June 2012 and the club had an incredible first season finishing in 3rd position to secure promotion to Step 5, guaranteeing a first ever FA Cup place and winning the Div1 Trophy.

2013-14 saw a strong recovery from a series of early season setbacks and defeats in August to consolidate with a very creditable 12th place league finish in the Premier Division. Two new stands were then installed to improve spectator facilities and the new grass pitches were laid out on adjoining land as part of the long term development plan. Further historic milestones in 2013-14 were the 2-0 home victory over Abbey Hey in the club’s first ever appearance in the FA Cup quickly followed by a 2-1 first FA Vase victory away at NCEL Rossington Main near Doncaster in mid September.

The following season saw the club experience something of an erratic start in the League, as well as losing to Brighouse Town from the Evo Stik League [North] in the FA Cup at the end of August having been given a walk over by the FA in the previous round against NWCFL new club, Cammell Laird 1907. Rossington were FA Vase opponents for the second successive year and again defeated 2-1, this time at home, before West lost 1-2 to eventual finalists Glossop North End. Some good mid season results garnered enough points to finish 16th in the table, well clear of trouble, with a final home game 2-0 victory over Runcorn Linnets signing off manager Andy Nelson’s six meteoric season’s in style.

2015-16 proved to be a record breaking season in a number of ways for West. After a slightly erratic start to the season under new manager Steve Settle, a series of good results from September onwards saw the club rise up the table eventually finishing in a record 5th place. The major highlight of the season had to be the record breaking 15-1 FA Vase win over Dinnington Town, this being the highest ever win both in the Vase as a competition and by any NWCFL club throughout history.

Progression was also made off the field with new facilities at Hardy Farm opened by local MP Jeff Smith. Plans were also made to expand the clubhouse and spectator facilities at Brookburn Road.

The season was to have a sad end with the death of club secretary Rob Turley, a man who had been involved with West Didsbury & Chorlton for over 40 years. But with a strong volunteer base and progress being made on and off the field, the club is in safe hands with a bright future ahead.

2016/17 saw the club finished in 6th place but finished with both a record points total and number of goals scored notching 106 league goals. The club also saw a record average attendance as almost 5,000 people attended matches at Brookburn Road with a club record 674 in attendance for the South Manchester Derby against Maine Road. In cup competitions West entered the Manchester Premier Cup defeating Radcliffe Borough and Glossop North End en-route to facing FC United of Manchester in the Semi Final’s which saw more than 200 West supporters travel to Broadhurst Park before West bowed out to the eventual winners.

You can see the full interview on YouTube here.

Speaking of the weekends match against Kendal, an Andy Scarisbrick brace and yet another Harry Wright clean sheet, sealed the win as we controlled the game for the majority of the ninety as we start to look like a real force to be reckoned with.

Kendal heaped praise on our fans and club for our excellent behaviour in what turned out to be a great day all round.

    22. Match Info: WYTHENSHAWE (H), SAT 30th Mar, 3pm KO

The Shakers will be back in action for the first time in 14 days following our 2 – 2 draw with Charnock Richard behind closed doors at Gigg Lane.

We are excited to welcome supporters back into the stadium in time for what is billed to be one of the most crucial games in our promotion bid as we host follow promotion chasers Wythenshawe.

A home win would see the two teams go level on points making for an extremely exciting final four weeks of the North West Counties Premier Division campaign. An away win gives the visitors the breathing space they lost at home to Cheadle Town last weekend.

Leading with 15 to go, Cheadle smashed two late goals to leave with the points and Wythenshawe suffered their first loss in nine. It really is all to play for this Easter weekend.

We look forward to a two new faces joining Dave McNabb’s squad in recent weeks, with right-back Keenan Ferguson joining from Spennymoor and former Shaker Max Harrop, returning to Gigg Lane from Northern Prem Side Avro. The additions add reinforcement as we go into the final six games of the season.

Watch the highlights of our last run out and Dave McNabb’s post match reaction below.
            In Opposition – Wythenshawe
Originally founded in 1946 as Wythenshawe Lads’ Club by Reg Gauntlet, a local window cleaner, gathering together a group of kids kicking a ball about in the street. They started playing friendlies, held meetings with parents in a wooden hut in the grounds of Cringlewood House, Yew Tree Lane. They then set up home by hiring a room in an old farmhouse in Daine Avenue, Rackhouse. A couple of years later Noel Timpson, of Timpson Shoes, purchased two ex-WW2 Nissen huts and sited them within the farmhouse grounds.

Promotion was gained in May 2018 when the FA allocated the first team to a restructured North West Counties Football League. This meant that the club was competing at semi-professional level for the first time, they finished a creditable fourth in the First Division South in their first season.

In 2019 the first team returned to the national stage when they re-entered the FA Vase. The following season 2020-21, they made their debut in the FA Cup, in the Extra Preliminary Round beat Shelley at home 4-2 in a memorable penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in 90 mins, exited in the Preliminary Round v. Trafford at home 1-4.

The first full season, 2021-22, following two coronavirus pandemic hit seasons, they reached the NWCFL Division One South play-offs, losing to FC Isle of Man in the semi-finals.
They improved on that the following season, 2022-23, arguably the club’s most successful, with a first team double, winning automatic promotion to the Premier Division by becoming champions (their first ever semi-professional title), then adding the First Division Champions Cup.

Sacha Lord, co-founder of the music festival Parklife and The Warehouse Project, in April 2023 joined the Board and installed as Chair in June. Barratt, appointed as Chair in 2019, remained on the Board as Vice-Chair.

In June 2023, the club changed its name, dropping ‘Amateurs’, becoming Wythenshawe Football Club, with the playing name Wythenshawe.

    23. Match Info: WYTHENSHAWE (H), TUE 27th Feb, 7.45pm KO

On Saturday Dave McNabb’s men made it thirteen Nortwest Counties Premier Dvision games undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Glossop North End.

We have been on a run that has seen us score 40 goals, score in every game and keep six clean sheets on our way to the top of the table.

We currently have a three point cushion over second place Wythenshawe Town with a game in hand.

We now focus our attention on their near neighbours and fellow promotion chasers Wythenshawe.

In the reverse fixture earlier in the season the spoils were shared in a one all draw with now former Shaker Shakeel Jones-Griffiths scoring our only goal that evening with Wythenshawe leveling up in the 89th minute with a Sam Dikov penalty.

This promises to be a fantastic display of NWCFL football as well as being a potential six pointer between two of the leagues in form teams!

Get down to Gigg and get behind Dave and the team as we look to extend our lead at the top of the table.

Check out the highlights from the weekends game and Dave McNabbs post match interview below.

    25. Match Info: Wythenshawe Town (a), Sat 4th May, 3.00pm KO

It was elation for Shakers fans at Gigg Lane on Tuesday evening as we beat a strong Charnock side and booked our place, courtesy of a Tanaka Cherera SCREAMER, in the North West Counties Premier Division Play Off Final for an encounter that will see us take on Wythenshawe Town at their Ericstan Park Ground.

The Shakers have been given an allocation of 350 tickets for this crunch game so we need all those that are lucky enough in the ballot to get hold of a ticket to get behind the lads from kick off until the final whistle and hopefully push the boys onto promotion to the Northern Premier League.

The upcoming final has all the makings of a goal fest with there being plenty of goals in both of the previous encounters. Earlier this season Bury won 4-0 at Gigg Lane and 3-2 in the reverse fixture at Ericstan Park.

We must reinforce the message that fans without a ticket should not travel to or attempt to gain entry to Ericstan Park under any circumstances.
We have also been made aware of potential scam tickets available online, please only purchase a ticket if successful in the ballot.

The action won’t only be taking place in Wythenshawe with a large screen being erected on the pitch at Gigg Lane as we welcome Shakers fans to watch the game together in the South Stand, this has now sold out – please don’t travel to Gigg Lane for the screening without a ticket. Shakers unable to make it will be able to purchase the stream to view at home. (info to follow)

We caught up with Dave McNabb following the Charnock game and you can see that interview below.
          In Opposition – Wythenshawe Town
Early Days: The club was founded in 1946 as the North Withington Amateur Football Club and was the idea of some young men who attended St. Crispin’s Church on Hart Road in Fallowfield. The club first played in the South Manchester & Wythenshawe League (1946 – 1958) and were subsequently transferred to the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur league (1958 – 1972).

Manchester League & Timpson Road: It was in 1972 the club applied and were accepted into the Manchester League, when up until 1974 all games of football were played at Hough End Field, Princess Road, Withington.

In June 1974, under the helm of Chairman Billy Moore, the club’s headquarters were moved from the Princess Hotel in Withington to the newly acquired ground at Timpson Road, Baguley, M23 9LL where three pre-fabricated houses were purchased and turned into a clubhouse with a bar, kitchen and changing facilities. After numerous discussions, it was decided to name the ground after the residing Chairman (Stan Hahn) and the Club Secretary (Eric Renard) out of respect, honouring them as founding members, hence the name Ericstan Park. And it was at this point, the club decided to design a new badge incorporating a cockerel and a fox; the cockerel related to founding member Stanley Hahn (the German for cockerel is Hähnchen) and the fox to founding member Eric Renard (the French for fox is Renard), to forever recognise the club’s founding members.

Cheshire League & The Invincibles: In 2014 and under new Chairman Kenny Hope, the club transferred to the Cheshire League Division 2 and went on to become history-makers, making national headlines as they won every single league and Cup game, 39 games in total, earning the side the title, ‘The Invincibles.’ Back to back promotions on their debut in the Cheshire League, and with a working partnership in place with professional football club Fleetwood Town, the club set their sights firmly on bringing semi-professional football to the club for the first time in history.

The North-West Counties Football League & Semi-Pro Football: That ambition came to realisation at the end of the 2017/18 season after two seasons in the Cheshire Premier League when the club secured promotion to Step 6 and the Hallmark Security North West Counties League South Division, heralding a new era at the club. There were further changes at the beginning of 2019 when Chris Eaton took over as Chairman with a promise to put the club on a sound business footing. Promotion was narrowly missed at the end of the season but with Manager James Kinsey and his coaching team in charge, the club looked forward to the new campaign with optimism. The optimism proved well-founded as the club showed its confidence in the players and management team was justified with some remarkable highlights and a run in the league that left them in third place and looking forward to a future in the next level. Their greatest run of success was in the FA Vase where a series of victories against Goole Town, Nostell Miners Welfare, Skelmersdale United, and Northwich Victoria saw them matched against competition favourites big-spending Consett Town. A draw at home saw Wythenshawe visit the North-East for the replay but the FA’s experimental rule-change for the competition saw the team short of six players while their opponents had a full squad to choose from. Even so it was a narrow one-nil defeat that saw their visions of Wembley come to an end. The highlight of the season was a remarkable two-one away victory over high flying National League North stars Curzon Ashton in the Frank Hannah Manchester Senior Cup and their last game before the season was ended by COVID-19 was in the semi-final of the Division One Cup against Sandbach United. The decision to declare the season null and void robbed the club of what looked to be a certain promotion.

Seven out of Seven and then COVID: Season 2020-21 saw a remarkable start to the campaign with seven straight wins and 29 goals scored against just 3 in return. Once again, the season was ended by COVID, and it looked as if once again frustration was the order of the day. However, the club got the news it so richly deserved when the FA made the decision to base promotion on the records of the two curtailed seasons and Wythenshawe Town found themselves starting the new campaign in the Premier Division. There was progress off the field as well at the beginning of 2021, when Chairman Chris Eaton, with the unanimous backing of the members, turned the club into a limited company with a promise of great things to come.

Success and Reward: The 2021-22 season proved to be an outstanding campaign with a run in the FA Vase and a close finish in the League. Victories against Litherland REMYCA, Bacup Borough, Seaham Red Star, Holker OB, Billingham Synthonia, red-hot favourites Consett AFC and Anstey Nomads saw them reach the dizzy heights of an FA Vase Quarter Final at Loughborough Students. However, it proved one hurdle too far and the visions of Wembley were dashed. After the first few weeks Town were never out of the top three places in the league and it went right up to the final day when they were pipped by just a single point. Wythenshawe Town’s achievements didn’t go unrecognised, and they received two great honours at the League Presentation Evening. Manager James Kinsey was rewarded for three years of hard work and dedication when he received the Manager of The Year Award for the Premier Division and the club’s attitude to discipline on the field saw them received the Fair Play Award.

The Summer of 2023 saw Manager James Kinsey depart for Stalybridge Celtic and a new regime at Ericstan Park was announced with the appointment of Rory Fallon and his Management Team.

From Cheadle, Gatley & Stockport and in the opposite direction, Timperley and Altrincham, take the 11 or 11a and get off anywhere near Tesco Baguley or Baguley Retail Park. If you’re travelling from anywhere in Wythenshawe, the 11 or 109 is the easiest bus to get.

If you are travelling from Manchester City Centre take the 109.

Driving: From the M56 Junction 3, follow the sign for Wythenshawe Hospital. After 1 mile, after passing the Shell garage, turn left at the traffic lights then right at the next set of traffic lights. The ground is at the end of this road.

From the M60 (Counterclockwise), come off at Junction 5 and join the M56. Come off at the first exit which is Junction 3 and follow signs as above.

From the M60 (Clockwise), head towards the M56 at Junction 4 and come off at the first exit, Junction 2 towards Wythenshawe. At the roundabout go straight ahead towards Altrincham, and at the second roundabout take the second exit, again towards Altrincham. This will bring you to M56 Junction 3, go straight ahead at the roundabout and follow the directions above.
