The 23-year-old heads to Gigg Lane following spells at Warrington Town, Chester, Clitheroe, Workington & Worksop. Ruben was the top scorer in the NCEL Premier Division last season with 39 goals taking his side to the league title. His career started at Southport before spells at Ramsbottom, Workington & Warrington Town. It will be the first time Rueben has played in the North West Counties League and we are excited to see him pull on the white and blue. Football runs in his family, with his brother Cameron having played in the Premier League with the likes of Birmingham City & Crystal Palace. On signing Ruben, manager Dave McNabb commented: We can’t wait to see Ruben in action this coming season! And with a squad to develop in the coming weeks, who else will be joining him? Keep up with the latest signing news across our social media feeds. X / Facebook / Instagram All signings are subject to FA / NWCFL clearance. #BuryFC | #PartOfIt View the full article
  10. It’s that time of the season where players take a well earned break. But from a recruitment point of view it can be the busiest time of the year. Retained & released lists have been announced and the competition for signing players begins. The first part of this recruitment process is retention. Although it sounds easy to most, Keeping your current players at your own club takes planning and preparation. We remain in negotiations with some players but as you have probably seen, a number of the players that our management team looked to retain have decided that their futures lies elsewhere. Sometimes a player’s valuation & a club’s valuation can be worlds apart so we have to admit defeat in certain areas and move on if we feel it isn’t in the best interests of the club. We can’t bow down to unrealistic demands. Once that retention is all confirmed then we can move on to our main transfer targets. The players we have identified are ones that will suit the manager’s philosophy & playing style plus the demands of this league and the problems it brings. Players that will be comfortable on our new 3G surface moving forward were also taken into consideration. This stage of the recruitment process is vital. I’m in constant dialogue with agents offering a wide range of players from all over the UK, that said we have our own targets that we have identified over a number of months, We can’t move away from those if we want to be successful. We want players that can play at the level that we are at but also players that we believe can play at the next level and beyond especially with the demands that a club like Bury has. We want players to grow with the club and become fan favourites. Recruiting the players that can handle the crowd and the expectations takes a lot more preparation than you would believe. Taking everything into consideration we have basically had to build a brand new squad that we believe suits Bury FC as a whole. We don’t want to have a large playing squad. Quality over quantity is the way forward so our fans can start to identify with the players and the team can have an identity of its own. We look forward to the new season and the challenges it brings. We know how difficult the league is and we won’t underestimate anyone. Thanks for your continued support as always. Jimmy. #BuryFC | #PartOfIt View the full article

  14. Once again, we have been working behind the scenes with the guys at NYCDA to get out to visit recent Treasureline supporting winners to find out more about them and their connection to Bury FC. For a number of reasons not everyone wants to share the limelight, so we were very grateful of the time spent with Charles Stinson recently. Now Charles has recently won £1000 from the NYCDA Weekly Draw, as part of his support of the youth and community based projects our Treasureline partnership helps fund. It was great to share the good news with him and interesting to find out just how long he had been supporting Bury FC this way. Based on the other side of Manchester Road in Redvales, Charles has lived in Bury for more than two decades and supported the club’s various lottery related efforts all that time. After meeting him at his place of work on Walshaw Road, he is the first to confess to being a Sunderland FC season ticket holder. Interestingly he has enjoyed his times at Gigg Lane over the years and most importantly, he has always had a soft spot for Bury FC and its commitment to the local community we live in. You too could be a winner like Charles for as little as £1 per week. For information including how to join and weekly results, as well as some insights as to where the proceeds are used and the kind of work this partnership will continue to support, click here. 15. As the off-season period is only a number of weeks old, work behind the scenes has been moving apace with stadium improvement, pitch re-development, and a whole host of other aspects being prepared for the club to go again when the season begins again in late-July. Neil Sears has outlined his latest summary below to keep supporters up-to-date. Hello to all Bury fans, I hope you’re all enjoying the close season and getting a bit of a breather before we dive into another exciting year of football. The disappointment of missing out on promotion hasn’t halted our progress in many other areas and I wanted to touch base with you and share some updates from the club. 3G Pitch Installation First off, the installation of our new 3G pitch is progressing well. It’s a big project, but things are moving along nicely. We expect to have a more detailed update from our partners at McArdle next week, so keep an eye out for that. Season Tickets I know many of you are already looking ahead to the new season and with pre-season fixtures released, and league allocations coming together we can outline plans around season tickets. Season ticket prices will again need to be linked to general matchday pricing, so the confirmation on the number of teams in the league guides this process. The good news is, for the most part, we won’t be raising season ticket or matchday prices. Plus, we’re introducing more inclusive options for hospitality, making it accessible for all our fans. We’re currently working through seating plans with our ticketing partner TicketCo, to allow supporters to pick their seat for the season in the Main and South Stand areas. Season ticket purchases will open once this process has been completed. Catering Update We would like to say a big thank you to Quirky Catering for their time at Gigg Lane. They’ve been fantastic to work with, and we wish them all the best. As announced yesterday, we are in the process of selecting a new catering partner and will make an announcement in the next few weeks. This change is part of a wider review of our operational activities over the summer. Reception Opening Hours Listening to your feedback, we’re adjusting our Reception opening hours to better serve you. Starting from next week, times you can contact club will be as follows: Tuesday: 12:00 – 16:00 Thursday: 13:00 – 17:00 Friday: 13:00 – 17:00 The phone number to contact is 0161 537 9253. Outside of these times, you can email us at enquiries@buryfc.co.uk, and a member of our volunteer team will get back to you as soon as possible. This change comes directly from your feedback on how we can improve communication with the club. Player Retentions & New Additions Last weekend, we released our retained lists to give you an update on our squads – across both Men’s and Women’s sides. We did this to make sure that supporters were up-to-date on the management team’s intentions as we head into the new season. This is generally out-of-step with other non-league sides at this level, however we felt it was important to outline this. Now is currently the time where football rests, with players and management heading off for well-earned breaks. However, rest assured on how much work is going into next season’s recruitment. We ask for your patience as we work through this process. We’ll announce new signings as soon as agreements are reached with each player. Please note that formal confirmations can only be made from 1st July, when new player registrations for the season open. If we do sign a player under a contract (most likely within the Men’s squad), we can announce immediately. However, there is a strategic decision when it comes to offering contracts during the off-season and in-doing so, not impacting on the overall budget. Fans Forum – Fri 28th June Tickets for the upcoming Fans Forum in Starkies were made available last week, and I am pleased that these are now sold out. Myself, Dave McNabb, Chair Marcel de Matas and Jon Newby look forward to welcoming those with tickets. The floor will be open for questions on the night but we do ask that advanced questions are emailed in by the 10th June. We can then collate these and answer these fully and concisely on the night. To email your questions, please click below. Fans Forum Questions The event will be filmed and will be available for supporters to watch after the event. I have received many challenging questions which I have been happy to respond to, and a lot of messages of support in my short time in position already. The response to our previous Q&A sessions, available on YouTube HERE, have also been well received. We look to keep doing these on a monthly-basis during the season. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who have been in touch. The strong theme is one of wanting the club to succeed and for us to continue pushing forwards. This is a message I share with you all in this regard. We’re all looking forward to another great season together. Up the Shakers! Neil Sears CEO Bury Football Club View the full article
  16. At Bury Football Club, we are committed to continually improving the matchday experience for our fans, and that includes our catering services. We have received your feedback over the past season, both in the stands and in the hospitality suites, and will be making changes to the offer available to supporters for the 2024/25 season. This change is part of a wider review of our operational activities over the summer. Our goal is to ensure that we provide the best possible service and quality to our fans. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Quirky Catering for their time at Gigg Lane this season. They joined last summer at short notice and have been fantastic to work with. The selection process is well underway, and we are excited about the potential candidates we have met so far. We understand that catering is a crucial part of the matchday experience, and we are dedicated to making sure that our fans enjoy the best food and drink available. The new catering partner will bring fresh ideas and menus, ensuring that every visit to Gigg Lane is memorable not just for the football but for the entire experience. An official announcement will be made in the next few weeks, once we have finalised our decision. We thank all those who have provided feedback and appreciate your patience during this transition period. With vacancies at Step 5 due to teams dropping out, Stockport Town have been promoted to the Premier Division as one of the losing Play-Off finalists with the best Points Per Game record last season. Congratulations to all at Stockport Town. However to accommodate them, Kendal Town have been laterally moved to the Northern League. With these changes the NWCFL Premier Division for the coming is made up of the following teams. These are due to be ratified at the League AGM in mid-June. We will keep supporters up to date with any changes and let you all know as soon as the fixtures are released. As we now know the make up of the league we will soon be in the position to release information on season tickets for the approaching season. #BuryFC | #PartOfIt View the full article

  25. It’s been a long hard season for all concerned at Bury Football Club with our first team falling heartbreakingly short in a playoff final penalty shootout against Wythenshawe Town. However, it is essential that we celebrate the successes of all of our teams within the Bury Football Club family as we complete our first season back at Gigg Lane. In this regard, we would like to invite supporters to join us on Saturday 18th May at Gigg Lane to be part of our rearranged end of season celebrations, where we plan to recognise the efforts and achievements of all of our teams. Tickets for this event are limited due to restrictions in place at Gigg Lane, whilst pitch works are being undertaken. 250 spaces will be available free of charge on a first come, first served basis. The gates open at 1 pm, with the awards being given out from 2 pm. This event will be a lower key event than originally planned owing to ongoing works at Gigg Lane and to it being holiday season for the players. There should, however, be representation from the men’s first team, women’s first team, men’s U23s and our junior team (U12s). Entry is through the Manchester Road End turnstiles by ticket only. Food will be available from Cugini Pizza with a pop up bar being open for refreshments including alcoholic beverages. Reserve your free ticket here #BuryFC | #PartOfIt View the full article
