Junior Shakers & Mascot Update
Bury Football Club is extremely proud to announce the launch of ‘Junior Shakers’, our brand new club membership scheme for our youngest fans. We would like to thank everyone who entered our recent badge design competition, we had lots of fantastic entries, and it was difficult to choose one! Congratulations goes to 10 year old Harry Noone whose design was selected to be the official badge of our Junior Shakers. This has been digitally enhanced and sent to our manufacturers at Hope & Glory. You can now sign up for annual membership here: https://buy.stripe.com/28oeVmb7h76q2n6cMM Membership for the full year, beginning on the day you sign up, costs just £30 per member. As well as a whole host of bespoke merchandise and other membership benefits (see below for the full list), our Junior Shakers will all be given the opportunity to be a mascot at one of our men’s or women’s home games at Gigg Lane this season. Member packs will be ready for collection at home games from Gigg Lane by the end of the month. If you do not live within the vicinity or want to join from further afield, email us to arrange postal delivery in the UK or abroad (extra charges will apply). Once you have signed up, you will be contacted to arrange a suitable date to be a mascot during the season. BURY FC JUNIOR SHAKERS BOOKLETDownload Please note, this is now the only way to mascot at Gigg Lane. We have been asked about creating a paid mascot opportunity but have decided we want to give as many children as possible the opportunity to mascot and feel that the annual membership fee for Junior Shakers offers excellent value for money. Local junior football teams and school teams and classes will still be given the opportunity to be flag-bearers at our men’s or women’s games at Gigg Lane and interested managers or teachers can contact our new community development manager to arrange this and join a waiting list for a place (at communityofficer@buryfc.co.uk). Initially, teams and schools who have not already been flag-bearers or mascots at Gigg Lane over the past year will be offered this opportunity. All mascots and flag-bearers will be given free entry to Gigg Lane on the day but must be accompanied by a full-paying adult if they are under the age of 13. View the full article

Accessing Your Online Tickets
The take up of digital ticketing has again been a success this summer, with renewals of season tickets, match ticket, merchandise and sponsorship package purchases, as well as away ticket distribution all being processed in this way. Being able to offer this method of ticketing gives the club flexibility in ticket distribution and helps ease burden at the turnstile on a matchday, as well as offer the ability turn around event ticketing in short timeframes. It is recognised that supporters like to have a physical card to present at the turnstile and for those who ordered a season ticket ahead of the 10th July deadline, these season cards can now be collected from Gigg Lane at the times shown here. There may be many who are accessing tickets digitally for the first time. The following explainer is provided to show how your digital ticket can be accessed and how it is used to claim your purchased event or item. Accessing your ticket digitally We partner with TicketCo for online ticket distribution and encourage supporters to purchase these wherever possible, as this assists us in planning for a match day. Supporters will be able to buy tickets for all club events and programmes via this platform from the club website here. Whether you have bought a season ticket as a physical card or not, you can always get access to the games by presenting your TicketCo QR code at the turnstile for an operator to scan – this can be digitally on a smart phone or via a print out of your QR code. The QR code on a physical season card is a replica of that presented within the TicketCo app or on your TicketCo PDF receipt which was sent via either email or SMS message at the point of order. This can only be used once on each match day. You can also download the ticket to your phone’s Wallet (Android) or Passbook (iOS), by clicking on the link in you email receipt (as shown right). Download the App TicketCo also provides the option to secure all your purchased Bury FC event tickets in one place, via the TicketCo Wallet app. Examples of how this looks on your phone can be found below. You can download this app here (Android) or here (iOS). Whatever the circumstances, we have you covered. If you have any concerns, ensure you arrive early on a matchday to speak to one of our customer service volunteers who will be available to help! For queries in advance, please contact the club here. Full details on all this can be found on the TicketCo website here. Be #ShakersTogether, Be #PartOfIt, Be #BuryFC for 2024/25. View the full article

Match Day Ticketing South Stand *update*
Yesterday we released a video talking through the changes at Gigg Lane ahead of our first home game. We have had some enquiries about not being able to purchase tickets on the day by cash/card in the South stand. We hope you understand the reasons why we have taken this decision, however, we understand that we need to offer a solution for less able bodied /disabled supporters so we are going to open a turnstile for these people to access on the day. In addition we would like to remind supporters of the following: You can purchase tickets online for Main and South stand anytime. Although we have a new caterer, and wait times should be improved this season we want to ensure that we can manage the queues. If everyone sits in the south stand this may increase queue times at the bar. Alcohol is not served after half time in the South stand. If you have a Starkie’s pass (Available Online) you can buy alcohol during the game in Starkie’s. All fans can use Starkies for free following the final whistle, If you are sat in the main stand, you are more likely to get into Starkies before it hits capacity. We thank supporters who have given us feedback. #BuryFC | #PartOfIt View the full article

Anne Bent: 1960-2024
Anne pictured litter-picking at Mossley in April-2023 Bury Football Club is saddened to learn last night of the passing of long-term fan, volunteer and former board member Anne Bent, at the age 64, following a long illness. Anne started following the Shakers in 1971, and amongst many activities will be mostly known to many as a frequent litter picker on matchdays. As well as following the club up and down the country from around 1971, she was a prominent ‘bucket shaker’ in the ‘Save Our Shakers’ campaign when the club ran into difficulties through the late-90s and early-2000s. From Gigg Lane to Old Trafford, she stood outside as punters entered the stadium pleading for that spare bit of change that may help save the club. Following the club’s expulsion from the EFL in 2019, Anne was a pivitol part of the re-emergence of football in the town as part of the initial group that led to the start of Bury Football Club (2019) Ltd. Assisting at fundraising events, helping anyone who would ask for it, always with a determination to try and put things right for both herself and fellow supporters. In Anne’s book, it was key to do things the right way and is was with that keeness she put herself up for election of the inaugural Shakers Community board in 2020. She was duly elected as the board’s sole female representative, until 2023 when she stepped down prior to the creation of the Football Supporters Society of Bury (FSSB). Leading from the front and galvanising those in despair in the early months following expulsion in 2019, Anne was regularly seen either at the turnstile or walking around the stadium with a rubbish bag and litter picker during the game and after. Always doing so with a smile and always with a quip about the game that had taken place that day – good or bad! Her selflessness and commitment earned a special place in the hearts of fellow fans, volunteers, players, and staff. She was not just a volunteer but a pillar of the Bury FC family, known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. The legacy of Anne will live on in the hearts of those she touched and in the stands of Gigg Lane, where her spirit will forever be a part of Bury FC. Our thoughts are with her husband Dave, daughter Louise & grandson Luke at this very sad time. Current FSSB Director, John Woodhead, who worked with Anne from 2019 had the following to say about Anne: “Anne was an extremely hardworking and supportive member of the inaugural Shakers Community Benefit Society board and became a very loyal friend. Her selflessness, commitment and dedication was apparent for all to see and she will be sorely missed. She leaves a legacy that will ensure she will always be remembered.” Rest in peace, Anne. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Anne (pictured in blue, arms aloft) celebrating a Benito Lowe goal away at Colne last season View the full article

Match Info: Padiham FC (A), Tues 30th Jul, 7.45pm KO
It was all-square at Squires Gate over the weekend in a high-scoring affair at a sold out Brian Addison Stadium with each side finding the back of the net four times and both sides leaving their first game of the season with a point. Goals for the Shakers came from Iyrwah Gooden, Bryan Ly and Rustam Stepans who all opened their club accounts as the spoils were shared following a baking day in the sun on the coast. Highlights and post match interviews from our Analyst Chris Watts, stepping in for Dave McNabb who accompanied Bryan Ly to a local hospital, and defender Lewis Earl are available to view below. Our attention now switches to Tuesday night’s trip into Lancashire and Padiham for our second outing of the new season. Last time we met our hosts at the Ruby Civil arena it was early on in the last campaign with The Shakers coming away with all three points. Padiham would return the favour as we met them at Broadhurst Part in the return fixture, denting our hopes of grabbing the promotion spot as we headed into the final league game in April. Matchday and ticketing information for Tuesday night’s game is listed below and we look forward to seeing as many Shakers there as possible. In Opposition – Padiham FC It might be hard to imagine today but in the immediate years following the establishment of Padiham Football Club in November 1878 the `Caldersiders` as they were then known were considered one of Lancashire`s soccer pioneers and one of the better Club sides in England. Full details on Padiham’s history can be found at the NWCFL website here. Padiham returned to the North West Counties Football League for the 2000/2001 season, winning the Premier Division Title in 2012/13 to gain promotion to the Northern Premier League, where they spent two seasons before being relegated back to the North West Counties Football League for the 2015/16 season. Last season, the Storks grabbed the final play-off spot before losing at the semi-final stage to Wythenshawe Town. They started their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Litherland on Saturday, taking an early two-goal lead before a come back from the Merseyside outfit grabbed a share of the spoils. A candy corner for children to purchase pop, crisps and various sweets is available. They have indoor toilets, also including disabled facilities. Outside there are male and female toilets, a 100 seater stand, two sheltered covered standing areas. The ground is also dog friendly! #NonLeagueDogs: Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead and take into account that it will be very busy. Junior Shakers – Badge Design Competition
We are delighted to soon be launching ‘Junior Shakers’, a club membership scheme for our youngest fans. As well as a host of bespoke merchandise and other membership benefits, our Junior Shakers will all be given the opportunity to be a mascot at one of our men’s or women’s home games at Gigg Lane this season. To launch the scheme we are running a badge design competition and you can find entry details and a design sheet below. The winning badge will then be used on our Junior Shakers merchandise and the winner will also receive a child’s season ticket for Gigg Lane for the coming season. Please note, this is now the only way to mascot at Gigg Lane. We have been asked about creating a paid mascot opportunity, but have decided we want to give as many children as possible the opportunity to mascot and feel that the annual membership fee of just £30 for Junior Shakers offers excellent value for money. Local junior football teams and school teams and classes will still be given the opportunity to be flag-bearers at our men’s or women’s games at Gigg Lane and interested managers or teachers can contact our new community development officer to arrange this and join a waiting list for a place (at; communityofficer@buryfc.co.uk). Initially, teams and schools who have not already been flag-bearers or mascots at Gigg Lane over the past year will be offered this opportunity. All mascots and flag-bearers will be given free entry to Gigg Lane on the day, but must be accompanied by a fully paying adult if they are under the age of 13. Once we have chosen our newly designed badge, we will be releasing details of how to join the scheme via our website and a link to the online sign up. View the full article

Update on Matchday Hospitality
Today’s news brings some changes to how matchdays operate at Gigg Lane, alongside some fan feedback which we very much appreciate: Any fan who has purchased a season ticket (regardless of which stand) can enter Starkies from 12:30pm (opening a hour earlier that last season) and during the game as long as they have purchased a Starkies pass (This is now available as a game by game pass, click here) This is a change to last season in which only people who had a main stand ticket could access Starkies before and during the game. After taking fan feedback and in line with our ambition to grow junior numbers, Starkies pass for Under 16s is now free of charge, those who purchased one will be refunded automatically. Fans can purchase a Starkies match pass for £7 per game, (these will be available on TicketCo up to the day before a game) which includes a match programme, a pie, and now added to this is Q and A with a Bury Legend (subject to availability). We are delighted to announce David Lee will be joining us for the first home game! A Starkies Pass for the whole season can be bought here, or it can be bought as a stand alone ticket for any game here. It does not include the matchday ticket which must be purchased separately. We are also delighted to announce a upgrade ticket option for 1885 and Sponsors Lounge tickets, so if you buy an individual match ticket on TicketCo you will be offered the chance to upgrade it to other packages. Season ticket holders who wish to purchase additional hospitality with the cost reduced to reflect your season ticket purchase can email enquiries@buryfc.co.uk to request an upgrade.
